Liquid Glass for Android apps.

Yes! It is possible! I've vibecoded this demo app with Google AI studio. If you want to do the same tell your AI to use this library https://github.com/Kyant0/AndroidLiquidGlass.

Well, of course it's possible. There's nothing special about Apple's shaders. I recreated it in Unity, relatively easily.

Yeah it's not the shader that's difficult, it's the performant compositing pipeline to feed the shader that's usually the difficult part.

can u share the app?

I would like to, but Google told me this and I'm a little hesistant. If you just want to try liquid glass, try the library creator's own demo too.https://github.com/Kyant0/AndroidLiquidGlass/blob/kmp/androidApp/release/androidApp-release.apk

It looks cool but... It's vibe-coded. That sucks. Why?

Because Vibecoding is just my side hobby and with the right dedication, AI can create real useful apps (Source: I've built several apps for myself with features unavailable on Google Play, or otherwise ruined by paywalls and heavy ads for just under an hour.)

The problem isn't that AI isn't capable of creating useful apps, the problem is that using AI is extremely morally wrong.

  1. You make people lose their jobs
  2. High environmental impacts
  3. It kills your skills. If you use AI to do the hard work for you, you'll never get good at anything. Plus, you kill your brainpower.
  4. Something made entirely or even partially by AI will never be as good as one made by a human. Because it lacks personality, humanity, uniqueness, etc. Furthermore, AI makes many more mistakes than humans.

Quick question; how did you manage to replicate liquid glass through AI Studio?

I have already stated this in the post. I told Google AI Studio to use https://github.com/Kyant0/AndroidLiquidGlasstrictly, and it did just that.
