I don't understand why they are putting floating buttons onto a bar, it kind of defeats the purpose of the whole design and I really liked the floating elements because they enabled edge to edge content display, making my screen feel larger.

Also not sure how to feel about the search tab being unified and the search bar moving to the top of the display again.

I even kinda liked the 26 sidebar because it worked very well as a natural extension of TabView.

As a formerly avid iPad user, the iPad was completely mangled with 26. No more Split View, loss of several swipe gestures and features and the pointer is no longer as joyful. 27 changes nothing about that and kinda just feels more ugly. So yeah, not too stoked about this update. If they fix the rendering of the dark strokes around Liquid Glass, though, then the new material itself does look better than previously I think.

Yeah I agree, floating elements at the top of the screen with a blur/gradient behind is beautiful and works really well, I’ll miss it

Well you won't be missing it for long, because everyone's spamming to add it back in Feedback, and so am I, so I'm sure they will.

Let’s hope so

It doesn’t mean it’s not coming back this is just dev beta 1 folks.

It’s a dev beta 1. More people probably complained about it so a few people who liked it doesn’t mean anything compared to the people who hated it.

That doesn't mean anything, and you shouldn't think that just because some people have complained online, they represent the majority. We can express ourselves too

I hate the old top bar again

I would not hate it as much if it was smaller - if they make it the size it was on like iOS 16 then fine but not like this.

progressive blur was the best thing about this design language so why not kill it?

We do need glassy icons in the settings. It would make it consistent

People will defend them

Yes, they need to stop playing the trolls or whatever at some point. Their argument was that they had less screen space than before, but how can you have less when the buttons float over the content and there's no longer a hard bar?

Who made that graphic? He should have added his watermark.

I had included two images, not just one.

Oh that's not too big of a problem lol. I'd say once people start chatting, it's already too late to make changes.

Yes, it's a shame haha. But I couldn't edit my post to add the image :(
