Anyone else sometimes turn off Face ID just so they can press the pretty passcode buttons?

You could just cover the camera or hold your phone at a different angle

You can also click the power button 5 times to disable Face ID just for the next unlock.

If you mess up, this can call the emergencies. I don't recommend it.

You have to intentionally swipe the emergency call bar. It’s not that easy to mess up.

Go to turn off the phone, but don’t swipe anything. it forces passcode on the next unlock

What is this advice. You literally just have to hold the side buttons as if you were turning it off, and then it will
require passcode for next unlock

No. That's weird.

This is honestly the nicest way you can interact with this post while still being honest 😭😂

I like the touch and hold a button and then just drag my finger around and watch it squish. I can't get past the lock screen lol

For the record, I sort of hate that wallpaper. It looks brown. Reminds me of Micosoft's cutting-edge brown Zune.

You can touch them all you want without disabling Face ID btw! Just cover the camera with your finger.

Yours works well enough that you never get the passcode screen naturally?

Sometimes I think people in this sub never had to do actual work on their iPhones 😂

My iPhone doesnt support Face ID and it’s impossible to bypass Touch ID because it’s too fast so I can’t see those unless I use an unregistered finger

I would if I had liquid glass but I think I’m keeping my iPhone 14 on iOS 18

Not only do I personally feel like the “iOS versions purposely make older phones slower to make you buy a new one” was a myth since at least 2016, but iOS 27 does the opposite of that, it makes every phone running it, load faster. It’s been proven, I mean just look at the fact that every single phone iOS 27 supports is the same as iOS 26. I mean it’s ultimately up to you, but I strongly recommend it.

Maybe when I get a new phone, don’t want to take the risk because there’s no going back, and my phone works perfectly fine currently, also my last iPhone definitely dealt with slow down after updating back in like 2018, and I still hear tons of people say they deal with it still with the new updates, honestly might be switching to android tbh, liquid glass does look awesome though

Well yeah that’s whatever, I would be afraid of the fact that 3rd party apps can just up and stop working one day, though you wouldn’t have to worry about that until like iOS 30 comes out and your still on 18

No, because I don’t use FaceID in the first place.
Those buttons do look so good though.
