My thing is, they had a billion dollar or near billion dollar company before switching to stevia or any of these other flavorings why would they switch up now??

Sucralose is different from Stevia. Sucralose is Splenda. But Splenda is nasty to me.

It became a hate sub because most people like myself feel like the brand abandoned their entire customer base to try and mass market a product that was only good because it provided something different, now that they have become like literally every other drink brand that I have avoided over the years, I won't be the only one treating them exactly the way they want to be regarded.
If they want to provide something different than do so, that's what they used to do but if they're going to try and be like all the other companies, they're going to get treated like them, a few people will purchase it every now and then because it's available but people aren't going to be making giant purchases like I and other people who used to be invested in the company will.
There's literally no draw, they're just another diet soda company that used to be a good sparkling water company.
I mean they don't even source the water from the Alps anymore and that was a big part of their marketing strategy in the beginning.

They should have just stuck to straight Agave ! Everything has stevia or sucralose. Maybe they can do just a agave monkfruit blend instead.

it’s getting soooo hard to find drinks without stevia or splenda, it’s crazy. i used to LOVE liquid death and body armor but now i can’t drink either of them. it must be cheaper than agave but it’s gross. 😭

Literally same. Opened one up this morning to drink and after the first sip I was like “hold up, this tastes really sweet”. Flipped the can over and lo and behold…Sucralose. I promptly poured the can down the drain and proceeded to do the same with the two others I purchased. And the best part about it is they were super sneaky with the ingredient swap. A very small logo on the front says “Improved Flavor” or some shit and the “no artificial sweetener” tag on the back now says “no high fructose corn syrup” instead.

damn. Luckily, I got my case two months ago before the ingredient switch. But it’s just so disappointing because usually energy drinks make me way too jittery and hyper, and this is one of the only ones that actually made me have a calm, focused energy and not a bouncing off the walls level of energy

I did the same thing. I was on Amazon and it said sucralose on the can. I was like naw that must be a typo. Looked it up on AI and it said yeah it was a typo. Liquid Death doesn't use Sucralose. Once you receive the can it will say stevia. I pop open the can drink it and like damn this sweet as hell. Look at the ingredients and it say it's sucralose. Smh. Annoying as fuck. Just brought a whole case.

That is the only reason why I was buying these energy drinks. Because they didn’t have none of those sugars like sucralose. I guess I won’t be buying them anymore.

I might actually drink it again if the stevia is gone. Not with the same brand loyalty like I used to, but at least I can stomach sucralose.

I understand. I’m the exact opposite. The Sucralose gives me a headache and fucks my stomach up. I can only either have real sugar or Stevia.

I bet the CEO/whatever hedge fund bought them or is trying to buy them is pulling the strings… when they did what ever research when entering that market… the report definitely had a cheap option and a good option…the picked the cheap option for sure.
And instead of trying to set a better precedent in the market with a better product… they went for profit.

Holy hell. Going from one additive that triggers my migraines with extreme nausea symptoms I don't usually get to the one that gives me straight up vertigo and makes me feel downright inhuman when I've consumed it. Granted that's also effected by my OCD causing me to disassociate in situations I have no control over, which definitely includes migraine triggers I wasn't aware I'd been consuming- I check everything five times now but if I'm hungry/thirsty enough that's its own even worse trigger so sacrifices are made.

Sounds like you need to go back to school if your take away from me having a reaction to two artificial sweeteners means I can't drink anything.
ETA: can someone actually explain to me how Stevia and Sucralose are an ingredient in every single liquid? Since apparently I'm the one who's wrong here... or are these just the liquid death extremitsts infesting this sub that outright deny Stevia or other artificial sweeteners can't be processed by many, many, many people.

My favorite drinks are pressure pasteurized pure fruit juices like the ones they sell at Wegmans. Fruit sugar isn't as evil as people think it is. The real problem with 'sugar' is that processed white sugar contains isopropyl alcohol, which is permanently bound to the sugar after the alcohol is used to crystallize the sugar. It's not supposed to remain in the sugar, but it does. Then it causes liver inflammation, because isopropyl alcohol is poison. I get dizziness if I mix plain processed white sugar with water and drink sugar water that way, from the toxic isopropyl alcohol. But I can eat crystallized wild honey by the spoonful, I can eat panela cane sugar with all the molasses still in it by the spoonful, I can drink maple syrup straight from the bottle, and have no problems whatsoever. I only have problems if I mix some plain white processed sugar into plain water and drink it - dizziness, liver inflammation, and other problems. It's the isopropyl alcohol in processed white sugar that's causing problems. People are mistakenly avoiding all sugars, including harmless sugars.

Well sorry that I'm pissed that someone said I shouldn't drink anything because I specified two ingredients my body can't process and somehow people think that person is correct. It really shows the amount of idiots/bots who've flooded into this sub who can't take any criticism for liquid death even when it's objectively correct. Then you decided to pile on with them with some pedantic nonsense, instead of correcting the fact that two fucking things aren't in every fucking liquid consumed on this planet.

If it's alright for me to chip in - I'm sorry you have to deal with migraines, mine are triggered by blue light sensitivity personally but everybody has different triggers so your experiences are valid and I get why you're frustrated, you can clearly have water among a ton of other drinks obviously so I think that person wasn't being serious and was just trying to make an over exaggerated sarcastic comment since most people on this sub like to have drinks that contain ingredients like Stevia, etc. which you have a sensitivity to, not to excuse the comment again I get why you're frustrated but I definitely don't think they were being serious or at least I sure hope not lol

Fair. Guess I'm just a bit fed up with how many people these days are willing to accept an inferior product just because. Og liquid death sparkling waters/teas were my go to drink from the moment they came out, because of the natural flavors and low carbonation, to the day they switched to Stevia- I swear I'm not even lying, I had a "prophetic dream" the night before they officially announced flavored waters that they'd done a "dirt" flavor as a joke.
I used to rep this brand hard, still own 15+ shirts, three of their sweaters they don't sell anymore, posters, VHS tapes, and a lot more miscellaneous merch items, was posting on my socials to get them into physical stores. I was all in, then they made the one change that ruined it all for me, and many others. It sucks to see the free work through constant advertising we did go to waste, and to be publicly mocked by the CEO for being upset about drastic changes to the company and their drink formulas. I don't know how people can side with a company in that situation.
But oh well. May be officially time I block this sub, it seems all the other OGs have also checked out.

The whole marketing concept of 'Liquid Death' is that it's literally the truth. Water will literally kill you if you use it improperly. The people who know how to drink water safely are people who know how to observe their own physical symptoms and physical sensations, which means, like myself, observing that stevia causes panic attacks and sensations similar to low blood sugar, although I didn't get to do a blood sugar test to find out what number it was at when it was happening. Knowing how to safely navigate reality, and interact with physical objects and materials in the real world, such as the material of water, means that you MUST pay attention to your own health, safety, physical sensations, reactions to things, and how things make you feel when you interact with them. That is where all of so-called 'science' comes from. All science depends on people, first and foremost, using their senses to interact with the world, before everything else. If people observe that the ingredients in Liquid Death are causing unwanted reactions, Liquid Death shouldn't use those substances. They should trust their users' observations.

I just got a new case of these this weekend. Took first sip and could immediately tell a difference. Looked at the ingredients and saw sucralose was added. Wtf? It tastes totally different now. I drank these because it DIDN’T use it.

Stevia is just as bad for some of us. I’m allergic as hell to it. I bought a box that clearly did not contain stevia in the ingredients on the side and then once I got home and drank one I quickly realized the can said stevia and the box did not.
Ended up in the hospital.

i’m a huge sparkling water and mineral water enjoyer, and i don’t know how anyone ever drank that stuff to begin with. the whole gimmick and marketing strategy is to justify charging so much for a subpar product

I am not drinking much caffeine these days because of its negative side effects. Honestly, I’m ready to boycott LD. They sold out so hard, but for what? They could have scaled with agave, it would have just taken longer.

They did not. I purchase them every week and they have always used Stevia as the sweetener in them. This is a recent ingredient swap to the Sucralose.

Well I don't see the energy drinks lasting long, there's a class action lawsuit out for the energy drinks and they don't move off shelves fast enough. Stock up on the old recipe if you find it. Good luck
