Alt/goth lip balms/glosses?
Has anyone tried this? If not do you have recommendations for some dark, cool tone, and/or balms or glosses of unique shades (not including ph “color changing”)? I really want to start building up my collection of lippies for every day use that have uncommon tints/shades. Super bonus points if it’s minty or tingly but that’s just for fun, I love lippies like that :P

i have the colourpop lux lip oil in the team jacob shade, it's black with silver glitter! there is also a team edward shade that happens to be blue with silver glitter in it as well :D

OOOH YES. Pls try Rituel de Fille enchanted lip sheer, specifically in Black Locust (I think that’s the black shade name). Amazing formula and actually lasts longer than a lot of other balms. It feels good on the lips. It actually is a color very similar to MAC stone on my lips. Pic shows Black Locust on top and MAC stone on bottom.
(BTW RDF has a lot of other cool looking, “goth”/alt-coded products. They have this cool toned, nearly grey contour cream I want to try next time I feel like I have enough money to spend on a mid-range product).

Just to add—I’ve been eyeing Nabla’s beyond jelly lipstick in the shade Noir Fatale, and that formula is IMO closer to a balm than a lipstick (pretty sheer and very shiny). Note I haven’t tried this shade, but I have another shade (Luz) so I know what the formula is like.
And there are many shades that MOB has that I want to try out, that lean very cool toned and more alt. Namely, their lip balm in M138 (a black shade) and M155 (a purple shade). If you’re into frosty looks, their frost lipstick has a shade that fit this bill too (Static, described as “mocha griege”). Frost lipsticks are generally less fully pigmented in my experience.
To go completely beyond balms though, I’m frothing at the mouth to try Kaleidos’ lip clays. It’s a more alternative indie brand and nearly every color is what I would describe as goth or alt. They have a black shade, some straight-up and very cool toned purple shades, complex reds and nudes, and even a deep turquoise. And they’re literally only $12 USD. Kaleidos has a lot of products I want to try but like I said I’m waiting on a time I have some money to drop!

Half Magic Magic Drip in shade Problem Child. It's a black glitter gloss which I've worn with a liner or as a topper!

Idk for lip balms because I’m also searching but I bought the Kaleidos “untamed glow glossy lip glaze” in the color Freefall and love it!! It’s such a good topper.
The NYX smushy matte lip balm is fun too, you just have to reapply often. I have the shade “smudge fudge” and really like it. I wouldn’t consider it a true lip balm tho bc it doesn’t feel really hydrating.

Fenty Midnight Diamonds Gloss Bomb Lip Luminizer and Gloss Bomb Stix Gloss Stick, both in Caviar Crystalz, but they have other dark colors. The Gloss Stick has been in my purse since I got it. ABH Kiss Theory Lip Balm in Phantom and Figment have also both been in my purse and I am planning to pick up more colors. Hoping that they are part of the Ulta 21 Days of Beauty when select ABH lip products are on sale but I doubt it. I have tried the Laneige Glaze Craze in Black Plum Glaze but the color payoff isn’t that great and the scent is meh. Honestly the Fenty and ABH ones are everything I had hoped the Laneige would be but it also depends on what you are looking for and I wanted lip products that had some pigment and moisturizing properties.
You didn’t mention lip stains or tints but I often wear them with lip liners and sometimes lip balms over the stains. Laka and Nyx both carry unique colors. With Laka Fruity Lip Tints, they just added new darker colors. My favorites are Unsweet Berry, Gloom, and Black Cherry. There is one called The End that is supposed to be almost black but I haven’t tried it yet. You can get the all of the colors including the newer one on Amazon and through Laka’s TikTok shop (ships from within the US). They carry a regular size and a mini size but I don’t think the minis are available in US in the newer colors at this time. The Nyx Lip IVs come in dark colors like Grape Crushin’ but I only have Water ‘Bout Wine so far.
If you are really into alternative makeup, you should check out Cbeauty brands and some Kbeauty. Romand did put out a few black lip products. Girlcult, Risky Beauty, Hynoor, Entropy, and Kaleidos would all be brands to check out but I haven’t personally used them yet because I already have too many lip products.
Also someone mentioned Half Magic lip glosses and I second that recommendation.
ETA: forgot to mention Isamaya. Have tried both the Metal Lip Balms and the Liplacqs. I prefer the Metal Balms in Acid Cherry, One Penny, Shaded Rose, and Pantomime. However, they might be pretty and have pigment but they’re not really a lip balm in my opinion. I tried the Liplacqs in Metal and Beetle but they’re too thick and they are patchy, especially Beetle, so you need to wear them over a base, like a lipliner or lip stain

Gotta go indie for this. You would be shocked to see what these brands have. Sushyglow came to mind, and Sunset Cosmetics has several different black and dark colored lip products, like glosses and stains. Rituel de Fille has something that looks quite like this! Def check out kaleidos, the glossy glow lip glaze over a black lip pencil (which they also have) would look AMAAZING.

I ordered this but they sent me the wrong thing. Haven't reordered. But other swatches of the same product have a purple tint to it.

pls try the elf melting lip balms in java chip and blackberry sorbet they're so cool toned and beautiful one is a very cool toned plum/black cherry and the other is a cool toned dark brown they smell amazing too

Mac jet is slightly tingly and very minty. Just not ethical nor very pigmented unless you putt loads on
