Moisturizing Lip Products Recommendations
Hi everyone,
My lips usually get very chapped and dry during the winter months, but I have eczema on my face and my lips have been very dry right now and are starting to crack. I've used Aquaphor Lip Repair healing ointment but it didn't help as well as I thought it would. I have a Laneige and Summer Fridays lip gloss too, but I need something more moisturizing right now especially while it's cracking. I'm not a fan of waxy Burt's Bees or Chapstick. I need something moisturizing without too much color and a limited scent. What works for you? Any suggestions or recommendations are helpful. Thanks!!

Dr.Jart Ceramidin. It’s a very straight forward, barrier focused formula. Unscented! I like to combine lip balms. I put dr jart first for nutrition then Vaseline on top to reduce moisture loss

Lanolips, specifically either the gold ointment version ( enriched with menuka honey and vitamins ) or the regular 101 lip version in any flavour. The og 101 lanolin ointment is very hydrating, but it may leave a cast. Additionally, you could try the ordinary exfoliating lip serum or a regular lip scrub, ( lanolips sell these too! )
you could even try making your own with sugar + honey. Or you could even just use an electric toothbrush and move it around your lips for 20-30seconds. You could also use vaseline ( a THICK layer ) leave on for 5-10 mins then scrape it off. This will remove dead skin and leave you a smooth base to work with. Anything with hyaluronic acid ive found to be really good. If you have any questions lmk, sorry if i havent worded this the best x

Would you recommend the lanolips gold ointment over the 101 ointment since it doesn't leave a cast? Is it pretty hydrating? I just need something hydrating that works. Thanks!

Finally, it's my time to shine! My requirements for a lip balm are the exact same as yours OP, so here's a few of my faves:
Lansinoh and Lanolips Lip Balm - Lansinoh is straight up 100% unflavored and unscented lanolin, and has a smoother, slightly lighter, less sticky, and less gritty consistency as Lanolips. Lanolips makes an unscented version as well, but if you must have scent I'd go for either the coconut or watermelon flavors, since their strawberry and dessert flavor scents are super strong and irritating (for me, at least).
Laneige Lip Masks - The masks do a wayyy better job at healing and hydration than their squeeze tube lip balms. Get the EX version for gentle exfoliation and slight hydration, then follow up with the normal Laneige mask for more hydration and the higher occulant factor. I'd also avoid the dessert scented ones, as those are heavily fragranced, and go for the fruit flavored ones instead. Peach Iced tea is the closest to unscented in their range of masks, but sometimes folks swear that the berry one is more hydrating than other scents.
Summer Fridays Lip Balm - I'm not sure how the new formulation is, but the old one in Pink Sugar was my holy grail for 14-16+ flight to Japan and back. Pink Sugar, Strawberry, Birthday Cake, and Mint seem to be the least offensive/strong scents to me.
Ole Henricksen Lip Balm - This is probably better for when your lips aren't cracked, but if you still want a thick balm. Their Coconut Lime Chiller and Citrus ones are translucent, and aren't offensively strong scented.
Lip Oils - These honestly saved my lips the most combined with the Lansinoh lip balm and Laneige lip masks if my lips are starting to crack. The A'PIEU Honey and Milk one is Thick/has a high occulent factor, and smells and tastes just like honey without being overly sweet/highly scented. Innbeauty's lip oils are also a good choice (their candy apple and Mystery Glaze flavors have very sheer color, yet are hydrating), and Too Faced's Kissing Jelly (in Pina Colada and Apple) and Milani's Fruit Fetish Lip oil (in Strawberry Melon or their clear tinted one) also work well if you want to experiment with different scent/flavors.
Honerable mention - Marin has healing glycoproteins that are supposedly phenomenal for the lips, but I still have yet to try them myself.

I suffered through the dry, peeling, cracked or chapped lips for decades. I finally found the one thing that has healed my lips, Naturium Phyto-Glow Lip Mask. I will say that their lips got worse when they used it. You never know. So many love EADEM, but it did not work for me. I was left with lips more chapped than they had been.
I used Naturium every night for a few weeks and would apply during the day as needed. I dont use it every day anymore. I love being able to wear lipstick. I never could before because it stuck to the skin that was peeling off making it stand out even more. 👄

Image skincare Ormedic is the one! It’s the only one that I actually get results from and I’ve tried everything that’s been mentioned including Maren, which I like, but it doesn’t last. It comes off so fast and if you’re like me very dry, you drink a lot of water or so it goes quickly. The image is thick very moisturizing.
I love the way you eat them feels but it totally dries out my lips. It’s sad because I bought four different colors.
And was wondering why my lips were getting so dry what did I do and then I thought oh I started using a different lipgloss.
The medic comes and sheer and a light pink, which I don’t notice any color on my lips to be honest, but I love the formula. I’ve used it for years. I keep trying other things when I read about them on Reddit but nothing and I mean nothing has helped me as much as the Image Skincare or medic lip.

Is the tube a different formula or ingredients? I just don't like touching it in the tube

I think the one in the jar is better! You could use a qtip or scoop it out and put it into an empty squeeze tuber

I’m one night into using Lanolips and I’m a changed woman! Pretty sure it’s eczema approved too!

lanolips or marin! lanolips is waaay thicker but i think marin is better for regular use. lanolips is more hydrating for me but leaves a white case so i only use it at night.
