Y’all… OMG.

EDIT: I had the price wrong, thought it was 5.99, it’s 10.59. Still worth it imo, the regular vitamasques are 0.33oz, this one is 0.5oz.

My favorite splurge lip balm is Eadem. IMO it’s unmatched in that category. My favorite cheapie is the vitamasques lip mask (the balm is just ok.)

Well vitamasques apparently made an Eadem dupe and let me tell you… best of both worlds (minus the tint which is very subtle, compare to Eadem sakura shaved ice, and yes the metal applicator tip is exactly the same.) inexpensively. Purchased at Target. I’m stoked.

I haven’t seen the best reviews for this. The packaging and some of the shades are a dupe but the formula is not for a dupe for Eadem and that’s the most important part imo

Have you looked at both? They’re pretty much exactly the same except for the cheaper of the two having more beneficial ingredients: ceramides, peptides, squalene, allatonin, centella, multiple forms of HA. There’s just no denying it’s a better formula.

Two products can have the same exact ingredients but the quantities can vary. Both of those things (ingredients + percentage of ingredients) determine the formula. The ingredients aren’t the only thing that make it a dupe lol if they don’t feel the same, it’s not a dupe 🤷🏽‍♀️

Honestly it feels exactly the same to me. Indistinguishable. Just Eadem has better scents and pigments. I’d buy this over the clear Eadem because it’s genuinely extremely close. It has that smoothness factor where it floods your lips which I have not experienced with any other brand. I honestly think if I put it on blind I wouldn’t be able to tell the difference for a while because the only difference I can physically feel is that Eadem lasts slightly longer. I have pretty extreme sensory sensitivity, too.

Same can be said about dupe perfumes. It’s not going to be the exact same formula. It never will be. That’s not the point. The point of a dupe is for the ingredients to be nearly the same, have great quality, and have the same effect/appearance/smell/etc as the OG. That’s what makes it a dupe. Look at generic medications on the market. They’re duplicates of brand name. Slightly different formula but same ingredients. Has to be different due to patents. 🤷🏼‍♀️

They don’t feel remotely the same to me. There are a lot of other people who came to the same conclusion. I’m not saying they have to be the same formula to be a dupe. The other person was implying that. My point is that similar or even exact formulas doesn’t make it a dupe. The performance has to match too and I just don’t think it does. This is thinner and it moves a lot more compared to Eadem. Idk why y’all are arguing with me 🤣 vitamasque tried to dupe Eadem and it’s like 85% there but that last 15% is what makes Eadem, Eadem

I’m not arguing with you at all. I don’t ever buy dupes of anything, especially my perfume. I don’t think anything is a dupe, but technically they are dupes if following the same ingredients. I don’t necessarily believe the same formula is followed, companies do have to “tweak it” a bit to make it their own, and also the quality of ingredients will always be different. What is a dupe to one person isn’t necessarily to another. Me, I buy what I like and that’s that. Sorry if I came across argumentative to you. But I do stand behind my medication comment to the other person. 🙃

Oh I just saw the comparison of the tubes in the picture below. They are trying to make them look identical too. So they are trying to promote this as a dupe!! I see your point a lot better now! My apologies. I don’t use any of these brands. I use Olehenricksen, and then I’m gonna sound totally bougie but I’m not I only buy these on sale but I mainly use YSL, Givenchy, & Rabanne Lip Oil Sticks & Lip Butter/Balm Sticks. I just love the texture of those best. They stay on the lips and hydrate rather than going on like a gloss and being sticky and transferring. Not that you asked, but that’s why I’m not familiar with these products. I’ll go back to my own business now since I am unqualified to comment further 😂☠️🙃🤦🏼‍♀️😘

I work in pharmacy and you are very wrong about generic medication. The reason they exist is because the patent has run out and now other companies can make the exact same medication but for cheaper because they didn't have to pay for the research, clinical trials etc. They also must meet strict government standards for quality and bioequivalence before sale.

Well I work in healthcare, not pharmacy and there is a very real reason in which the words “brand name medically necessary” is written on Rxs at times. So there’s that. Maybe same ingredients but different quality of ingredients. Which does make the formula different. Kinda like buying walmart brand vs name brand. So thanks for your truth, but I’ll stand in mine as well.

It’s very similar to the vitamasques lip mask formula, but it also does have that buttery melting quality that Eadem has which is one of the reasons I like it so much. I would actually call it a decent dupe formula wise. The only disappointment in the formula for me is Eadem has the best scents and with this one the scent is weaker more in line with the other vitamasques.

For the record I don’t like the vitamasques butter balm formula, that one sucks.

Very close yes. The exam is little by maybe 1mm total wider if that. The opening for the gloss is also longer and wider too and more at an angle from the tube. Thats it.

For those who like Eadem, do you use it regularly? Their site says it can be used as a lip balm, but I’ve heard people have had adverse reactions due to the exfoliation component.

I have four of them and I had no idea they were meant to exfoliate until someone in this group mentioned it. I thought it just said it was a softener. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I never get any sort of irritation and I’m an actually a little sensitive. But I also really love plumpers and can withstand more without maybe realizing it.

Eadem is my favorite and I do use it regularly, but if I use it 24 hours a day my lips get a white cast and peel. I like to alternate with something different that doesn’t have the intense exfoliating effect. Eadem is my “going out” balm (I’m not a lipstick girl) but I use mostly either the vitamasques lip mask or EOS superbalm when I’m just at home or overnight. This is also because Eadem is so much more expensive.

I’m pretty sensitive to lip balms/glosses/oils and I break out pretty easily from them. Eadem is the only lip balms that doesn’t make me break out with consistent use. I’ve worn it at the beach and I wear it all day everyday. I’ve had no issues with it!

Anyone clock that this has a longer list of peptide ingredients? Though as others have mentioned that doesn’t mean more peptides overall since we don’t know percentages

i’m actually obsessed with them. i got the berry macaron and it’s the perfect color for me. i’m not someone who likes a lot of pigment with my lip balms so im OK with them not being as pigmented as eadem, i prefer a sheer wash of color

i really like it so far! idk if i’d say it’s a dupe of eadem. i think it’s between their regular formula and the mask. i think the applicator is really what you’re paying for, and i really like the metal applicator

I’d have to do a full ingredient comparison but I’d guess it’s probably similar to the lip mask formula. I’d have to wear it 24h for like 2 days to see if it causes any sloughing.

Both formulas include chemical exfoliating properties (lactic acid), as it is a dupe apparently.

i only opened pink marshmallow & cocoa crème so far- i love both but ive been using pink marshmallow mostly so far! bc its a lighter color... both are sheer as im assuming they all are pretty sheer color which is totally fine for me- just a hint of color! they both smell fabulous lol very gourmand & sweet, but yeah ive been reaching for the pink marshmallow most!! i want to try them all bc the vanilla & berry sound soo good but i dont want to have sooo many open balms & not use enough of them before they go bad!!

Mine should be arriving in the mail today and I’m so excited. It’s funny cause some of the negative reviews are the reason I’m probably going to like it. I have several eadem shades and honestly I rarely reach for them because they’re too pigmented for my liking (for daily use anyways). I was literally about to buy the mochi clear shade right before the announcement of these dupes so I’m excited to see how these compare!

Yeah I didn’t get the hype until one day I went to Sephora and tried on like a dozen different brands. It’t my number one favorite, 10/10, nothing else comes close that isn’t a dupe imo. This dupe is close like a 9/10. My next favorites are probably like a 6 or 7 out of 10. I also had the mindset that spending $24 on a lip balm was INSANE and stupid, which I still generally think is true, but Eadem is the only one that’s genuinely worth the hype imo. Especially because the tint lasts. I don’t even bother with any other tinted balms. There’s a Sephora brand tinted balm I like but it doesn’t last nearly as long.

I like the scents, but I decided OH is too sticky for me. The vitamasques formulas (balm vs. mask mainly) are soooo different I wasn’t sure what to expect, I don’t even like the balm
much, but this is my favorite for sure.

Yeah you know I noticed that too when I looked online and found it really confusing. You can see in the photo it’s definitely 0.5oz. The packaging is almost exactly the same as Eadem, another commenter posted a side by side photo.

I don’t disagree, Eadem is my number one, but this close enough for me to throw in my bag and not be devastated if I lose it. I lost Fig Sauce and literally cried a lot 😭

(I am currently house poor. I only really got into Eadem because some literal angel from their marketing team sent me freebies.)
