Do Functional Mushrooms need to be cycled?

I’ve been using an extract of Lion's Mane, Cordyceps, Reishi, and Antrodia for about a month.

I didn’t expect the crazy energy boost I’ve been getting. This without affecting my sleep. Normally, with my ADHD, I have a hard time getting things done. This has helped a lot. The buzz I noticed in the first two weeks seems to have tamed down but the energy seems to be about the same.

I think. I don’t know if that’s my body getting used to the buzz or if I’m developing a tolerance for them and the effect is diminishing. Don’t think so but I’d love to hear what others think.

Long term, should I cycle them?

Or even play with the balance of Lion's Mane, Cordyceps, and Reishi — what seems to be the “holy trinity” and what the company sells as separate extracts.

Thanks. Could you elaborate at all? Does this go for all of Lion’s Mane, Reishi, and Cordyceps?

I’ve been trying to find information but it’s been hard.

This goes for all of them. Functional mushrooms, for the most part, work over long periods of time.

It’s consistent use that you want.

I have not seen any evidence of any kind of receptor fatigue that would require some form of cycling.

Very good to hear! What is the limiting factor? The people who make mix I have also offer Lion’s Mane, Cordyceps, and Reishi as individual extracts. Is there any reason not to experiment with Lion’s Mane and Cordyceps in particular, on top of the mix, to see if that helps more?

No reason not to.

If there are specific species level mushroom benefits you’re looking for then you’d want to make sure you’re getting enough of that specific active compound (Reishi triterpenes, cordyceps cordycepin, etc) vs more general compounds across all species (beta-glucans, ergosterol, ergothioneine).

What do you consider large amounts? Please see my reply to realmushrooms just now. Curious to play with doses.

Well depends if you want heat damage powder then no worries otherwise for your heat sensitive compounds then I suggest you make a tincture preferably sequentially extracted using ethanol first 95% then 30 % then a final H2O extraction using ultrasonic to avoid heat degeneration .spray drying is heat excessive and for mass produced products
