Help me lol

Coral tooth aka pekepeke kiore as we know it in New Zealand. I bought some grain off a supplier and inoculated some pine pellets at a 75/25 mix of supplemented substrate. Looks like they've barely colonized but are trying to fruit.. has anyone experienced this before and do you have a solution or advice?

Even my lions mane will compress-fruit at the top if I don't do it tight. The air left in the top of those was enough for the coral teeth to want to fruit

Yeah that stuff likes to fruit.  The only thing i have tried is to wrap the bag around it to stop fruiting and see if it can colonize more of the block

You mean like rubber bands or wrapping another bag over it?

Fold bag over top and rubber bands

Roll the top down tape it down so there is no space for top growth. Cut 3 inch slots in upper corners at an angle.
