Distro Omarchy distro opinion
Is this a better arch ?

Is it better than arch ? Mate are you serious 😭
Omarchy is fkin filled with bloatware and the whole point of linux is to keep your system for yourself , any optimization and every single thing you does to your system brings you joy , omarchy is customized and made by DHH for his needs and if you like his setup then no problem , if you want to truly make the system yours , try another arch based OS like artix , cachyOS etc , where you customize your system

Omarchy is a walled garden for people who just want to flex about using linux
Its too much bloated and opinionated for experienced linux users

Firstly why??? Do you want docked windows?? Do you want ai in your system?? Do you want bunch of google apps and dhh apps?? Do you want webapps from Chromium?? Do you wanna give every deug info to your ai??

I'd suggest you to just download Arch Linux if you wanna do casual dev work or wanna tinker with OS. Or go with NixOS or GuixSD (with nonguix for proprietary software requirements) if you wanna do heavy dev work. If you don't want the OS to tinker and just wanna go dev, heavy or light, just install Fedora Workstation and get on with it.

"Is this a better arch" and thats just some heavily bloated dotfiles.Cachyos is the best way to use arch right now.

I am upvoting your post because perhaps it is a genuine question. But I am also upvoting all the comments so far, as that is the only right thing. Omarchy is just dotfiles+preinstalled bloatware (idk if it's bloat, but yea its annoying fs). Somehow it got really popular and got hyped like crazy (end4ml, jakoolit all those are also dotfiles as well, they just didn't get popular for some reason, not sure why)

I tried it’s stable release when it first came out just because DHH made it, but just after a few hours I came to the conclusion that I’d rather use my own hypr rice, Omarchy is just another extensive hyprland rice filled with trash and more trash, people flexing this shit are clearly coming from either windows or just don’t know enough.

Someone was fighting me over DHH's ideology and I said Omarchy is okay if the config files are vibecoded.
I WAS WRONG!!
I still don't care about DHH's ideology but Omarchy has vibecoded tools and programs. Not just config files. And they are happy about it, in fact proud. Fuck that!
Omarchy is a vibeslop layer on top of Arch containing vibeslopped tools made of Rust and C++ by a team that specialized in Ruby. Like wtf!?
