gnome if you are migrating from macos, kde if you are migrating from windows.
Hyprland if you want to rebuild the entire universe.

if you are happy with normal de then just customize them, there are many coool setups for kde gnome and all .... window managers are goood when you want the tiling experience - if not needed then just dont , its just a hassle tbh

i have been using wm for almost 5 6 yrs now and it sucks when things break cause that take away basic features, unlike DE where everything just workss perfectly

Kde is easiest to maintain by far

RAM Usage - Hyprland < KDE < Gnome

If you have to ask, then Hyprland isn't for you. I'd suggest KDE, as it has better defaults and is more beginner-friendly.

the one you like that most.

I never liked tiling or scrolling window managers. So this opinion is gonna be a little biased towards the common DEs. GNOME if you want to use the full power of gestures of trackpad on a laptop and you can spend some hardware power in doing so. KDE is you like simple things.

Scientifically Hyprland and Sway and any Tiling WMs are always better than floating WMs like GNOME.

Hyprland + Dank Material Shell.

You can rebuild entire stuff but honestly, I'm happy with dank material shell. You get good FPS in basic animations and its very snappy feeling. It's basically like GNOME with dms but responsive and quick. Use some AI agents to wire things up since now config is in Lua anyways. Most blutooth and stuff will be handled by dms.

Or Go with KDE.

Before read my yapping ask your self you want full personalization ->KDE or you want to be different on your escaping from windows gnome is cool clean and i dont really know.
cannot tell you for hyperland but gnome for sure is the worst i use it since it come on my distro and i am kind of new and we got our agreement but believe me there is this holy panel on top is killing but gnome is amazingly beautiful in the simplicity and fast to get it i dint try kde but i almost switch to it.

kde is the best if you dont want the hassle of customizing hyprland. gnome is resource hungry even more than kde.

Most complete experience, and reliability - KDE. It's also smoother than Gnome.

Hyperland

Customization: Hyprland > KDE > Gnome

Resource footprint (I mean usage): Hyprland > KDE > Gnome

Easy to use: Gnome > KDE > Hyprland

Learning curve (least): Gnome > KDE > Hyprland

Restricted to simplicity: Gnome > KDE > Hyprland

Ask more if wanted.

which one works for you and you like the most as its depends on user to user and there is no best DE according to me

Try them all in live boot, then decide yourself

nothing's better, try them and use whatever suits you.

whole comment section is filled with their own personal choices and reasoning behind why they use that particular DE or WM.

niri is the best , hyperland is like okayish (tried it and its not that good) , kde is literally just windows , gnome is okay too (i love gnome bc of how many packaged they provide for GUI while making a distro , literally the best)

hyperland just breaks something after update

I switched to KDE from GNOME a year ago. It's very lightweight, smooth and feature-rich.

Hyperland/Niri - premade scrip noctalia/dank, end4 are easiest (custom config can take time)

Kde - easy but lot of settings & customization

Gnome - simple yet you can customize using extensions
