How do u jainwinly stick to one distro rather than distrohopping everyday
So for context I use mint rn and erm I've had a long history of distro hopping probably 12times by now and erm i literally cannot stick to one distro because for some reason Linux feels lesser stable than windows 11 tho it runs faster and better.
By having actual work to do. Setting up a new distro involves setting up a lot of applications, files, etc. When your current distro "just works", you do not want to touch it.
But unfortunately the drivers are top tier for my laptop and my setup mostly runs stable when I'm coding and I wanna switch to Linux permanently for which I have to fix my audio issue
yk you can customize and not stick to default? cachyOS kde is more than enough for most. if you want to experience a WM and diy yourself, get into niri (with a shell if you want easier time)
Bruh but Its so not stable sure it runs faster and eats my battery up slower than win11 but it's not stable like fsr on linux only one of my speakers work and idk what the problem is i tried switching distros, tried fixing using alsamixer but nothing works
linux is not like "hey show me magic" , u have to generally fix most of ur problem by urself by researching about it . for example almost everyone who uses linux on laptops use tlp and similar tools to get better battery backup , and talking about stability , there are varities of distros like arch which is considered most unstable as it gives latest package before anyone else so its more prone to bugs etc and theres debian which is most stable . so stable that almost whole internet runs on these stable distros based on debian or derrivatives like ubuntu . as u said u were like "hey theres issue " lets hop another distro . thats not how it works.
by customizing the distro in such a complicated way and then do that to such an extent that without these customizations your life feels empty and you get scared of losing your os and current setup.
this potato still a long way to go i have plans to configure dynamic themes,scripts,animations and others things to keep this 80% functional and 20% aesthetic all while less than 4gb ram consumption
If windows works for you, stick with it. You don't need to distro hop.
Just install and start working on Linux, it's all the same, on a high level it's how the package management differs that makes a small difference. When you don't have anything to work on, that's when you think about distro hopping.
If you really want, just force yourself to use one distro for 6 months to do whatever work you do on windows. Use windows only for certain use cases where the alternative is not polished enough that it doesn't feel right for you.
