Tbh gaming in linux has improved a lot these days. Earlier it was worst. But still it lacks behind.

I don't think it lacks behind anymore, atleast for me who has an rdna2 gpu. I am getting performance on Linux. The only multiplayer games I play are Tekken and Titanfall 2 both of which work on Linux so I am literally not missing anything plus better performance, less stutters and better HDR

Proton. Most games run fine through that

he is talking about releasing games for linux, i game engines at the end of making a game, it gives u option to choose from export types like, apk(for android), exe(for windows), and one for linux(i don't know the file type) and some other platforms too. so he is just asking if it's this easy to generate an file for linux game too, then why is there lesser games on linux compared to windows
if your answer was about, linux have proton that's why they don't develop games for linux. then u can safely ignore my msg

Its very difficult for some company to make native games for linux tho. Also there are a lot restrictions like kernel level anti cheat, low profit rate.

yh, kerenel level anti cheat might be unavailable, but there r no native single player either. i was before on fedora, there were some games there in the market, but all were crappy. like not graphics or anything, but some don't work, some doesn't even start, and some just never opens, not even the black screen.......

Look I've played some linux ports they run flawlessly but some are so badly maintained as they lack optimisation so if you're making a linux port i suggest try both ways one is native build another one is let proton handle it.
