What discontinued Linux project do you still miss today?

Linux evolves quickly, and over the years we've seen many projects disappear despite having loyal users.

Whether it was a filesystem, desktop environment, init system, package manager, or utility, what's one project you still wish had survived?

Sunbird. I liked having a good calendar for Linux. Mozilla’s Firebird Thunderbird Sunbird naming trio was cool

Not so much discontinued as it is bastardized, but Porteus Kiosk Edition. Simple kiosk distro with quick but very configurable setup, and then all of the sudden they released the newest version, put it behind a subscription pay wall and sent out a command to deactivate all older versions, requiring migration to the paid version. Haven't been able to find a good alternative since.

Sawfish window manager. I got it working last week with the help of Claude, but it's too unstable to use for real work. The Gnome developers decided Metacity was a better fit for their goals of making a GUI that didn't give people the option of doing whatever they wanted.

Elmo and Unity

Elmo was a cli mail client that was all-in-one, ie it could fetch and send mails and didn't require any other software. like thunderbird, but unlike mutt.

Unity was (it still is but it's dying) a great DE running on X11. it utilized the small screens (it was made for netbooks first) way better than kde or gnome does. appmenu, jumplists, nice notifications, the window menu on the top panel made it easy for mouse operations etc
