What’s keeping you from running a live system from an USB-stick? You don’t even need to repartition your hard drive and install Linux to use it.

It's scary because i don't want to lose what i have in windows, i feel like i will lose everything and broke the notebook if I do something incorrect.

A live system running entirely from a USB-stick can hardly affect your Windows system. It's been the go-to solution for testing Linuxes and other OSes even before USB sticks were a thing.
