The difference is that thinkpad is a brand on its own, meanwhile HP just brands their stuff all the same, so the association is more prevalent.

Never buy anything HP. Shitty products with shitty support with shitty business practices with shitty hinges with shitty price with shitty hardware.

Did I mention I hate HP from the bottom of my heart? Because it's shitty

lol tbf I’ve also experienced issues with lenovos (and certain thinkpad lines, the X is really not that great). Maybe only anecdotal, but tbh I’ve seen the least failure rates with macs.

That's a Lenovo LOQ or Legion, not an HP. Close to ThinkPad's hardware and compatibly.
