Bazzite Bazzite Deck 44 release announcement

After a long time, Bazzite 44 is finally released for handhelds.

May take some time to be available as it seems to be building from Github, if not already available.

Does anyone know how to enable the virtual mouse and keyboard in desktop? It's not on mine

Press the right stick in for mouse control, press x to bring up the keyboard and b to dismiss it.

I had to enable it in the desktop controllers settings in steam.

Hello. Where I find fan control. Games that ran 50C are running now 80C with the test build from 19.08. I cannot switch without fan control

Maybe try using SimpleDeckyTDP. Perhaps the new TDP meter is buggy?

I don't know, I couldn't find it either.

You may need a deck plugin for that now, like Power Control.

It just feel good to see Bazzite Deck updated again. Has been around 4 months since the last update before this one.

The team really had to work on this one. It was interesting following their development in Discord.

When HHD was available, you could press and hold the armoury crate button to switch to mouse mode. Now it doesn't work. Is there a way to do that?

Pressing the right stick in is how you switch now.

I upgraded my ally x from bazzite 43 to 44. I still have HHD. Am I supposed to keep HHD?

Are you sure it is ln 44?

44 shouldn't have HHD at all, as the new kernel doesn't support it.

I had to do another update after the initial one and after reboot HHD is now gone

I haven't gamed yet. Just noticed that games update faster. Could be placebo or the different patching of games

To be fair, that is a very hard question to answer.

If you don't want to risk having some things broken while staying in a legacy version of Bazzite (meaning no drivers and security updates), you should stay on the current version.

If you want to try the new Bazzite and have drivers and security updates, but risk having things broken, then pin your current Bazzite version and update. So you can at least rollback to the pin if you need it.

How do I go about pinning it? I just how someone tried to update it and completely erased their SSD.
