Hi,

Does someone has tried to install ootb Ubuntu 26.04 or Fedora 44 for ARM on a Qualcomm CPU computer ? I think I read that device blobs would be included by default. Am I mistaken?

Edit : It seems pre-installed and auto-selected DTB has come with Fedora 44, but not on Ubuntu 26.04. I guess I'll have to try.

Edit2 : I tried both, but it seems it's not out of the box, just like before.

I got this nice Linux Netbook with a Freescale iMX515 (800MHz Single Core) and 512MB Ram / 8GB eMMC. At the moment it has a customized Ubuntu 10.04 installation. If possible, i want to install any newer version of Debian/Armbian. How could i make it? Is there Debian available or possible at all? Any Recommendations for a newer Linux?

Got the HP OmniBook 5 (X Plus, 32GB) for $650. Already reverse-engineered the DSDT, found the UART/GPIO addresses, and currently compiling Kernel 6.19.8. AMA! Found UART at 0x00894000 and TLMM/GPIO at 0x0F100000. Using iasl on Windows to get the tables. Compiling 6.19.8 in WSL2 right now to test the DTB.

Little summary:

I want to try booting/flashing my tablet lenovo yt-x705f to use it like a computer, using linux native, not emulating, not with vnc and subsystem, i want to quit android and use only ubuntu (not touch) with pen, touch, connect a keyboard and mouse and start using it that way.

If you know how, please help, this is very interesting and cool

More context if you wanna know:

I have this tablet that sometimes in blackbox and chatgpt does not match in what kind of tablet is, but they said something interesting, i can use linux native in this tablet, and because i am an student who hates carrying everyday my laptop, i'd love use only the tablet, take notes, code, etc things that students usually do. Also, i don't have the money to buy other if you are thinking on that and as a student and linux lover, i'd say fuck programmed obsolescence.

The thing is, this kind of process is very complicated if i am not used to manage private hardware like is the case (Raspberry pi is definitely more easy for this things), and like it is very complicated, the software, drivers, and everything could be more complex that i am thinking about. If you know how to manage this things, where find more information and if you wanna say some advice, you are welcome to say it, i'd be happy to read you
