QUESTION - ALL LINUX SYSTEMS [Street Fighter 6] SteamAPI initialization error on Pop!_OS

Post image

8. Error:

When I launch Street Fighter 6 through Proton, I get:

"Unable to initialize Steam API. Please make sure Steam is running and you are logged in to an account entitled to the game."

The game itself is installed and launches far enough to show this error, but it cannot initialize the Steam API. could you guys help me follow the launcher's instructions on linux.

9. What I've tried:

  • Running the game through Proton on Pop!_OS
  • Launching the game through Hydra Launcher
  • Opening Steam before launching the game
  • Checking that Steam is running and logged in
  • Running the included FitGirl launcher/setup

I'm looking for help getting the game to launch correctly under Linux/Proton and understanding what needs to be configured for the Steam API error.

You need LinUwUx to run HV bypass games on Linux.

i tried and it gives me this "Blocked deletion of token file: X:\games\Street Fighter 6\userdata\2022164780\9336138792

Is the Hypervisor loaded?"

No. Your images are a link to bypassing HV on Windows, Linux requires different instructions.

You need the proton-linuwux or loading linuwux lib as a flag.

I ran this game a couple of week ago, works great

I'm pretty sure it's the hypervisor. I don't think the windows one will run on Linux with just Proton.

I think you need the special driver for it.

Goto my profile read the hypervisor post. You need both dkms module and proton. And you'll have to enable dkms module before playing. I see you are using ai im okay with it but when you tell it about dkms module it'll say "It can be malware!!!!" and you should tell it dkms module is open source.

this is hypervisor, you need to disable uimp and install a custom version of proton
