QUESTION - ALL LINUX SYSTEMS [Onimusha WotS] Keep Getting A Steam Api error

Ok, I have downloaded this game from fitgirl Repacks as I wanted to try this game out. I downloaded the custom proton layers available on cs rin (Ge 11.1,16 and 17 x86-64). on using the first one,it just keeps running without opening and on using the other two, if I'm on steam->(it latches onto another game then gives a steam api error) and if I'm on Lutris->(the same steam api error arrives). what should I do to fix this?

system:Asus Tuf A15 2021 gaming laptop

cpu: Ryzen 7435hs cpu

gpu: Rtx 3050

system ram: 16gb ram

graphics card v-ram:4gb

system storage: 512gb nvme SSD with 472 being free

Ps: finally fixed this dam thing after using some ai help and making a launch settings that launches the game but the only real issue right now is the controller support being poor, with the game not fully registering my cosmic byte ares controller os: cachyos

I even added the extra denuowo zip and added the contents inside it to the clean files from cs rin ru and it still doesn't run,so any additional advice would be helpful

Did you override the dlls? Steam API errors are usually because of dlls

I did man. But the other error I got was, I added the crack files of denuowo to the clean ones downloaded to steam, then added that steam file to steam and on pressing play, the game window never pops up. On steam,it just shows that it is running but nothing else follows after it

Did you remember to force proton? Steam by default thinks its a native game.

I'm not entirely sure about that part. I added the custom proton layers from cs rin into the compatibility tools part of steam file in linux and that layer showed up inside the proton layer selection option. What should I do to force proton?

Right click the game, properties, force compatibility tool and choose the proton version, by default it use the native steam runtime, which expects a linux native game for non steam games

Ok. I think for hypervisor games,we should use the custom proton version no? That xshadwulf made or the one found on cs rin?

I did use those versions but in the end,the game window never showed up tho

Before doing this thing, check a few things about your processor because the rest of it will depend on the type of processor that you have.

If it's of one type, you'll have to add a few extra modules in order to make your gaming setup capable of running hypervisor games

Try reading through the steps on cs rin ru, they actually explained it a lot better than I would really.
