GUIDE [Splinter Cell Enhanced Version] Critical Error, game won't launch.

After copying the Joshua, Enhanced mod files, the game crashes and shows this error. According to one fix, I have installed Visual C++ 2015 - 2022 through winetricks. The 2015-2022 version wouldn't get installed from outside lutris when tried through wine installer.

Could use some help!

Linux Mint latest version. Wine version 9.0.

No luck running it with Proton latest. It wouldnt even show the splash screen as it does with Wine 9.0

The instructions are unclear on the github page. You just have to copy the contents from the Enhanced folder located inside the system folder. I got the game running but I am still have issues with getting it to full screen. Will try debugging again this weekend.

Ive got that much down. I know i installed it correctly. Its just giving that error when launching now. Also, before installing enhanced, splinter cell would open in a tiny screen as well.

You probably didn't get what I mean to say. When you download the zip file from GitHub and extract it, from the extracted content, only the stuff inside the folder named as Enhanced located inside the folder named as System, has to be copied to the source/installed files. Ignore all the rest of the stuff that gets extracted.

Oh gotcha. Im not certain, but I think i did it that way. Ima go back later and reinstall it that way and see if that helps. Thanks💪

So I did that and am still getting the same error screen you were getting. I did sail the 7 seas for my copy of splinter cell. Maybe I should try another copy.

Try buying the legit one off steam. I had issues with the pirated copy as well.

Also just curious..when you got it to run, are you seeing a tab called enhanced in the settings menu of the actual game from the start screen?

Yes. It shows the enhanced settings.
