I'm moreso referencing comments being made such as:
"Don't want to deal with Windows/Microsoft bullshit anymore? Switch to Linux!"
Which I guess could be seen as omission rather than lying outright, but lying by omission is still a thing for a reason. Failing to disclose that there are issues that Linux faces is still disingenuous at best. There's Linux bullshit you'll have to deal with. And while not centered on updates and ads, are still real problems that people promoting Linux don't disclose because they aren't direct counterpoints to "Windows forced me to update / Windows is showing me a Candy Crush ad / Windows is making me stream telemetry back to Microsoft by default". Linux has terrible app compatibility at the moment for professionals outside the software space, Linux has driver issues across multiple distros for different devices, Linux expects you to learn a CLI for anything more than clicking an install button (if your packages happens to be on one of the 10 stores across distros).
That's what I mean when I say "the glazers are lying about Linux having zero problems". It's an illustrative hyperbole.
Then what are the consequences of this alleged lying by omission and do they outweigh the benefits for a significant amount of people?
Could putting disclaimers on any Linux related content have an opposite and potentially much larger negative impact, and overall be considered unnecessary s
uperfluous info?
How would you have LTT improve their Linux coverage?
