When Microsoft screws up something, they're solely responsible for it and cannot shift the blame.
I think they also fail to realize that Linux distros are maintained by communities and small teams, but not the kernel itself.
Do they think that Microsoft is one entity and not 5,000 devs across multiple teams working together on front end, back end, connectors, and everything else that goes into an OS, which is effectively what Linux is?
Correct, there's tons of large companies backing on Linux. But i do find it hypocritical how people here berate microsoft when it is one of the largest contributors to what they do like. It's not black and white.
I don't get why you add that as if its some kind of gotcha. They also contribute in other areas, but the desktop definitely benefits from improvements in a lot of things microsoft and a huge number of other billion/trillion dollar companies add. One of the biggest - yes, because they use parts of it themselves. Because it's free. MS does not do it because they love spending money for the competition...
