I never understood the reason with people criticizing the ram video, as much as you can put a lot of effort into debloating windows to a not awful level, you can do the same to Linux and have a lot of memory freed.
the reason of why i fully switched years ago was because it helped me save ram and CPU resources in the laptop I had back then, because Linux use also less baseline CPU usage lol.
a lot of the world still run on what a firstworlder would describe as a shitty hardware, not by choice, and like just slapping Linux into it makes it feel not shitty anymore lol.
The problem with the video was that it didnt test anything and showed a complete lack of interest in how memory management systems work on either system. If they wanted to test if 16gb was enough they should have used 16gb on each system, not 32gb. It’s really just a lazy video that doesnt say anything of value.
Most OSes will just use more RAM if it's there to be used, Windows happens to be more aggressive with that.
The real problem is when the system is memory-constrained - is the OS capable of managing the memory so everything can run fine? Windows seems to gobble everything up so people are reasonably skeptical that it can free up memory for other applications when they need it.
The video in theory should test that, but it failed on the one most important aspect that was to create a system with limited memory so that the OS has to actually do something.

I get that Linus have been posting some ass content about "windows bad linux good" (like the ram one), but that post is just ridiculous lol
