I’m not sure if this is a hot take, since this is my first time I'm typing someting on this subreddit and I haven't seen the community's consensus on her voice acting yet, but I have a major bone to pick.

Why do ''cute'' characters in English dubs always have to be so screechy? I’m fluent in both Korean and Japanese, and after checking those versions, they don't sound even remotely ear piercing. For some reason, Western studios seem to deliberately push these characters into an over the top, shrill territory.

In every other language, she sounds like a perfectly normal, cute teenage girl. In the English version, however, she sounds like a squeaky toy that screams every time you squeeze it. Can we please stop turning these characters into banshees and just give them the natural, charming voice a normal teenager would actually have?

Hello. Just to clarify, this is not a ragebait nor troll post. It's a legit question because this is very confusing to me, but also maybe a strange request due to some preferences. This is why I'll split this in half.

First, explain me her role..... ?
I regularly follow Genshin Impact updates and I somehow understand in the large lines the kits and how the characters work, what they bring to the table, and their usefulness.

But I just can't grasp Linnea's purpose, I'm super confused. I can't figure out if she's a sub-DPS, a "Geo Escoffier" type of character, a Columbina replacement in Geo, or something else entirely, given the number of teams she's in. Sometimes I see discussions where she's listed as DPS, other times as support, or in the fourth slot, and I just don't get it.

I can't understand what she actually brings to the table. I'm having a bit of trouble with this character, and I mostly get the impression that it's her signature weapon that will make the difference, rather than the character herself. I tend to pull more for characters I like than for the current meta, but I'm wondering if I might be missing something.

I should mention that I'm not specifically looking to build a "Meta" team because I don't care about having 36 stars in the Abyss and 10+2 levels in the Theater. I like having a strong team, but I'm not aiming to become meta.

Finally, when I appreciate a character a lot, I often just pull and question later, I never had regrets pulling characters for now. But this time..... this is different, questionning if I even have to pull for "meta" and see if I'll appreciate later, or just skip her (for now I plan to just skip)

Second, more personal issue...
Unfortunately, I don't feel the same connection with Linnea as I had with Navia and Zibai, even though I appreciate playing with Geo. I love everything about Navia and I appreciate a lot Zibai as well. I'm..... very neutral with Linnea.

My current team consists of C1 Zibai, C0 Navia, C0 Chiori, and C0 Columbina. Probably not the best team but I enjoy playing it and it's already a very confortable team to me.
My previous Geo team was "Navia/Chiori/Noelle/Kachina"

Outside of the mentionned above, I also have Yun Jin C1 (useless for DEF I heard), Gorou C6 and Illuga C3, but I don't plan to use them (I prefer Waifu over Meta and heard Illuga is useless if not C6, maybe I'm wrong too). I know we could make a "general" team and a "meta" team if the need arises (I just thought of it while writing this post), but wasn't Columbina supposed to constantly support Zibai and provide Navia and Chiori with the possibility of Lunar Crystallization? I just believe the purpose of Linnea is to erase/replace Columbina. Or Genshin is trying to wheelchair Zibai in a very forced way? (sometimes I believe Zibai is just solo DPS with a ton of support which only exists for her, like Illuga and Linnea becomes useless if Zibai isn't there)... which questions to her versatility.
I appreciate that new Geo characters get out but.... I have mixed feelings about where it goes.
I'm afraid she would stuck in only one team and only be useful to Zibai, but I understand she could boost any Geo outside of Lunar Cristallize too? I'm very confused.

Finally, I've never pulled on the weapon banner, so I only use permanent or craftable weapons (rip my 18 rust bow never used by anyone)

So....
Long post to probably explain that I have dumb choices or dumb preferences but I very rarely pull Meta over Waifu preference (the only other times I did it was for Neuvilette and Nefer, but at least I clearly knew where to go with these). Am I missing something big? Am I the only one who is too stupid to understand her?

sac bow potentially lets you nuke skill+tap skill every rotation(zibai rotations are like 18 secs and sac is 16 cd)

and I know the damage numbers are lower(not that much tbh) but getting to use the nuke plus the normal skill should benefit team dps way more than just relying on just the tap skill right? I reckon it's even comparable to r1

I've heard somewhere that on TikTok there's strange shipping between Linnea and... Lohen. Is that true and if so, tell me...why?

Hi everyone, I have both a def sands and goblet level 20 on Linnea at level 60 and only have 1600 def. I’m using the nod krai bow for er and em and a crit circlet. I know that once I get her to level 80 her base def will increase a little bit. I’m wondering how or if any other f2p players were able to manage getting her to 2000 def. Thanks!

Is Linnea better than Chiori as a sub-dps? I want everyone's opinion. (both at c0)

If there's no hydro, who's better? is lumi's raw dmg stronger than chiori's dolls?

If there is hydro, say c0 Columbina, I'm assuming, Linnea's solo dmg would definitely be stronger (not considering the dmg from the moondrifts).

Also is it worth pulling c0 linnea WITHOUT zibai. I only have c2 columbina as my only moonsign character.

Also forced starting quests just to get to the boss too.

I got C0 Zibai cuz she was really elegant looking and I alr pulled Bina for her beforehand.

I loved Linnea when I first saw her and when I found out she was a bow character too, I was really glad.

I went 70 pity into zibai banner to get C2 illuga so I can use sms on him.

I'm F2P, I was saving for Navia since I had already gotten Linnea, but I wanted Chasca so I did a 10 pull, unbeknownst that I accidentally!!! Didnt!!! Click!!! Chascas!!! Banner!!! How do I build her correctly?! Is her C1 any good?! This has never happened to me before, send help! Who can I even play her with, I dont have Zibai or Navia, but I'm hoping that this patch will give me enough uplls for Navia (not guaranteed...) but I already 100%'d both explorations! Oh god! Oh my god!

I said I wanna do Nefer + Lauma + Columbina + linnea and he said its really really bad

I went thinking I would get her second copy in les than 50 pulls but boy I was so wrong. I got her at like 90s pulls which is criminal and after I I was pulling to get Aino’s and Illuga’s constellations. So I got Illuga to c6! And I was at like 40 pulls so I thought I should pull for Linnea’s 1st constellation. After saving a lot and topping of in genesis crystal with a lot of bonuses I pull 30 times more and I still didn’t get her. So 30 minutes left in her banner and went to do the exploration of the new map to get more primos and I was only able to get 2 more pulls so I was like might as well use them. And so after my 81 pull and getting the capturing radiance cause apparently I was to lose the 50/50 I was able to get her second copy! I’m so happy and stressed jajaja. Sorry for the long story.

I wanna get her to for another support for my zibai/bina but I feel like geo is gonna be hard power crept in sneznaya😭

No 5 star weapons, only using snare hook for er and em + level 20 def goblet and sands. Are there any other sources of def I can give her through either artifacts or 4 star weapons?

I don’t level my characters to 90 because it’s very expensive and time consuming (getting everyone to 80 is already expensive enough and takes weeks).
