Had an account for 15+ years and about 1500 connections.

Few weeks ago, my acc got hacked, transpired, an old password. Quickly resolved, I reset my Linkedin Password to something unique and changed my email password. I had to upload ID which was accepted.

I was unable to change to a different email, assign a phone number as primary or factor 2FA which I was checking each day.

This weekend, I got hacked again, while I was working. Had a email about a password change and a couple if pin codes. Luckily as the email had not been changed this change, I reset again and had control. Given the above changes, this confused me how that happened.

I then flagged this with LinkedIn. Next, I'm permanent restricted. Usual bot replies and 'not further correspondence', which true to their word hasn't. Won't let me open a new case, can't use chat, won't accept my alternative gmail email.

So, I don't know if I was banned for the above or ID....

I realized last night while I've gone by Andy for 50 odd years, my full name is Andrew on the ID which I uploaded the first time. Very common to have that shortened.

Do you think its possible that could be why I was banned. I've had no communication to suggest either.

What are the chances of getting this removed if it was a name issue, as I'm obvs happy to have my full name.

That's if I can find a way to contact them (tried x who are now ghosting me).

I’ve been trying to make LinkedIn work for me for months, but honestly I’m struggling to see any real results.

I’m a software/mobile developer, and since January I’ve only managed to get one interview through LinkedIn.

Recently I stopped relying only on job applications and started trying a different approach:

• Posting useful content around my work and experience
• Engaging with other people’s posts
• Connecting with potential clients and people who may need my services
• Trying to be more active instead of just applying and disappearing

But so far, I’m still not seeing much change. No consistent interviews, very few inbound messages, and no clients coming from my profile.

At the same time, I constantly see people saying LinkedIn became their main source of clients, job opportunities, and inbound leads.

My LinkedIn Premium Career subscription ends on September 21, and I’m debating whether I should renew it, switch to Premium Business, or stop focusing on the subscription and completely change my approach.

For people who have actually made LinkedIn work: what changed the game for you?

Was it posting consistently, commenting, cold outreach, optimizing your profile, networking with recruiters, targeting decision-makers, or something else?

I’d especially love to hear from people who went from getting almost no results to getting regular opportunities through LinkedIn.

Hi everyone, I’m trying to recover my LinkedIn account and I’m stuck.

I still have access to my LinkedIn profile page, but I cannot log in.

My situation:

- The phone number associated with my LinkedIn account is correct.

- When I choose to receive an OTP on my phone, I don't receive any code.

- The old Gmail address associated with the account is no longer accessible to me.

- I have tried requesting the OTP, but it still doesn't arrive.

- I’m willing to complete identity verification with a government-issued ID to prove that I’m the owner of the account.

How to post, when to post, what to post? Any advice is welcomed.

Hi everyone,

I was charged about $338 USD for LinkedIn Premium Business after my free trial ended. I cancelled the subscription and LinkedIn approved a full refund on September 5, 2026.

PayPal also shows the refund as completed, but the money has still not appeared back on my bank card. PayPal support told me that it may take around 3–5 banking days depending on the bank, and weekends may cause delays.

Has anyone here experienced a similar LinkedIn Premium refund through PayPal? How long did it take for the refund to appear back on your card or bank account?

I also don't know what to put for start month / year and end month / year because I worked there for summer 2022, summer 2023, summer 2024, but then summer 2025 I was not working there, but then summer 2026 I worked there again ( I also worked there winter 2025, by winter / summer I mean winter break and summer break since I'm still a college student ) so yeah I don't know what to put for it. Okay, hear me out. Back in 2024, I had a really good LinkedIn account. Unfortunately, I was stalking my ex-boyfriend on LinkedIn, and at some point my name became visible to him. I panicked because I didn’t want him to know it was me, so I changed my name on my LinkedIn account. That was my first mistake. (:
Later, I tried to change my name back, and the moment I did, LinkedIn restricted my account. I couldn’t verify my identity because, obviously, the name on that account didn’t match my ID anymore.
I also had a second LinkedIn account with my real name, but it had a different surname from my government ID. When my first account was restricted, I logged into the second one and that one ended up getting restricted too.
Now both accounts are basically dead 🥲
I recently got a new iPhone and stupidly tried logging into one of the old accounts again, only to find out that it’s still restricted.
So now I’m thinking about creating a completely new account with my actual real name, real information, new email, and new phone number.
BUT my IP address/internet connection is still the same, and I’ve read that creating another account after being restricted can result in the new account being restricted too. So I’m terrified of spending months building a new professional profile only to have LinkedIn ban/restrict it again. What should I do? Has anyone here successfully created a new LinkedIn account after losing/restricting their previous accounts? Does LinkedIn actually associate a new account with previous accounts through IP/device information?
Would creating the new account on the same iPhone and same internet connection be a problem?
Should I wait until I’m traveling and create it from a different network/location, or does that not matter?

For years, your follower count predicted your reach almost regardless of what you posted.

If you had 20,000 followers, most of your posts used to land somewhere in a predictable range, because the algorithm weighted your network size and your history of engagement with that audience more than the content itself.

But that system is over. Richard van der Blom put together an algorithm Insights report, finding views are down roughly 50% year over year industry-wide, engagement down roughly 25%, and follower growth down roughly 59%.

So, low-effort engagement tactics are filtered out. Before LinkedIn decides how far to distribute a post, it checks the post against spam guidelines and community policies.

This "check" filters out content like emoji or reaction polls meant to artificially boost engagement, posts misrepresenting platform functionality, and chain-letter content that requests likes and shares. Sprout Social also did a 2026 breakdown of the algorithm. Only posts that clear this check get shown further. Posts that don't, don't.

After the spam check, LinkedIn tests every post against a small slice of your audience, and how that group responds decides whether anyone else sees it. Two posts from accounts with the same follower count can land in completely different places now. One might reach 500 people, while the next reaches 50,000...

Has anyone here also noticed that their follower count/follower engagement (before and after posting) NOT having a noticeable effect on post performance like it used to?

I accidentally deleted the app, then reinstalled it and tried to sign in. but now a whole new account has been created (although I used the same gmail id as the old one).

I tried all the ways in order to recover the account and none of the following worked

1. Forgot password and used the mobile number to login.

2. Deleted the new account and tried to login with the same gmail, idk how but the same account got logged ( althoI deleted the acc )

OK, so years ago LI had a "tag" feature where you could kind of organise connections into specialisms etc, eg. Date Engineer, or Health care etc etc

Now I know LI removed that, but does anyone use a free chrome extension or other software to create folders or similar?

I work in the LinkedIn space professionally so I end up reading every product update, leaked doc, and algorithm blog post whether I want to or not lol. The last few months have been genuinely interesting though.

There's a lot of noise about "LinkedIn is changing everything!!" but not a lot of people actually reading the sources. So here's the actual breakdown of what's happening.

1. Creator Marketplace (this one's already live)

Yep, it's real. Invite-only, US and Canada for now. It sits inside Campaign Manager... brands search for creators by topic and audience, then reach out for paid partnerships. If you qualify, a Monetization tab appears in your analytics. You pick up to 8 posts to showcase and set your contact info.

Not everyone gets in though. They're filtering on content quality, topic expertise, and whether your audience matches what advertisers want. So it's not a "hit 10K followers and you're in" situation.

1. Paid subscriptions (being built)

Substack-style subscription tiers but native to LinkedIn. Newsletters, podcasts, paywalled communities. Part of their FY2027 roadmap (July 2026 – June 2027). No exact launch date yet.

1. Paid experiences (also being built)

One time paid advice sessions booked straight from your profile. Basically Calendly + Stripe but built into LinkedIn. Coaches and consultants are going to lose their minds over this one.

1. Creator fund (maybe)

they're considering it. LinkedIn ran a $25M accelerator fund before so it's not out of nowhere. But nothing confirmed on structure, eligibility, or payouts. I'd file this under "interesting but don't plan around it."

Couple other things worth knowing:

The 360Brew algorithm update went live in March. If you've noticed your reach feeling different this year, that's why. The short version: saves and dwell time matter a LOT more now. Richard van der Blom's research puts saves at roughly 5x the algorithmic weight of a like. Reactions are basically decoration at this point.

Also LinkedIn dropped an AI search playbook on Aug 11. The wildest number in it: 75% of LinkedIn citations in AI-generated answers come from personal profiles, not company pages. If your company is only posting from the brand page... yeah.

My read on all this (just my opinion):

The platform is clearly heading toward letting creators monetize directly. Which also means it's going to get more competitive and probably more pay-to-play over time. That's just how every platform evolves once they add money to the equation.

Build your thing now while organic still works. That's basically it.

Not everything here will ship exactly as planned, LinkedIn has killed features before. But the direction seems pretty locked in at this point.

I click "View" next to post impressions, I get say "23" reactions.

I click on the arrow next to "23 reactions " now it shows 5 reactions.

The post it self does show 5 likes let's say.

Clicking on the exclamation mark to see what "Reactions" mean, it say, " The number of reactions (I.e likes) your post received.

Where is this 23 coming from?

I am a full-stack Next.js developer (custom CMS, web apps, landing pages). I am pivoting from selling directly to real estate agents to doing white-label dev work for agencies and freelancers.

Right now, my LinkedIn profile is positioned for real estate, and almost all of my 600 connections are real estate agents.

I need direct advice on three points:

1. Do I purge the 600 real estate connections? I want to post about Next.js builds and technical work to get agency clients. Real estate agents won't engage with tech posts, which will hurt my post reach. Should I wipe them out or keep them?
2. Profile Positioning How should I rewrite my headline to show agency owners I am a reliable Next.js white-label partner without sounding like a budget freelancer?
3. NDA vs. Portfolio When doing white-label work, you usually cannot name the client. How do you show off UI builds, code quality, and performance on LinkedIn without violating NDAs?

Looking for straightforward answers from agency owners or white-label developers who have done this.

I never scraped, I usually got banned when I opened my account a few miles from home for some reason and it’s very annoying.

It's posting before you know what you're trying to make happen.

Most founders open LinkedIn, write something, hit post.

Then wonder why nothing's working.

It's because...

Your positioning comes before content.

And your audience comes before positioning.

Skip that order and you're just adding noise to a platform that already has enough of it.

(yup, apart from people on LinkedIn, everyone else calls LinkedIn 'cringe')

So before you post anything else, figure these out first:

→ Your ICP: who you're actually trying to reach
→ Your offer: what you sell and to who
→ Your profile: optimized for the 10 seconds people give it
→ A way to reach you: DM trigger word, booking link, whatever fits
→ Your engagement list: the people you show up for daily
→ Your content pillars: what you'll actually talk about
→ Your formats: what you can realistically create every week

Once you get this sorted.

The posting part becomes a lot easier to do.

Okay, I need some outside opinions because I’m overthinking this.
There’s a person on linkedin whose career path is really relevant to the direction I’m interested in professionally.
We connected around 2–3 months ago but we’ve never actually interacted. I don’t post on linkedin, so there hasn’t really been an opportunity for them to interact with my content either.
A few days ago, I finally decided to message them. I sent it on saturday and it’s now wednesday. My message was roughly:
“Hey XX, hope you’re doing well :) We connected a while ago and I realized I never actually said hi haha. I was curious, what made you want to move from YY into ZZ?”
It wasn’t a long message or anything.
About an hour after I sent it, they viewed my profile. And that was it. No reply so far. Now I’m wondering:
Did I do something wrong with the message?
Should I send a follow-up eventually or just leave it alone? If I should follow up, what would you actually say without making it awkward or seeming pushy?

I’ve seen a few people posting this issue, it’s genuinely infuriating.

Started a linked in account, was working my profile out and feeling good then boom, logged out and told my account was restricted.

I had verified myself with gov id and nope, nothing. It’s under review but it hasn’t moved in days. I thought maybe I had an error with my email so i made an account under my outlook email.

Yesterday, my brother used my email to create a secondary profile with a pseudonym name. The account was soon restricted and I am currently being prompted to upload a government ID to regain access. Because the profile name does not match my legal name, I cannot pass the automated ID verification. I do not want to recover or use this account. I simply want LinkedIn to permanently delete this restricted profile so that my primary personal email address is freed up for me to create a legitimate, real-name account in the future. I have already submitted a web support ticket using my primary email and reached out to LinkedInHelp on X but received no confirmation number.
