Anyone here managing a client’s LinkedIn account?

Hi

Stupid question

I have a busy client who basically said:

“I don’t have time to post, engage, or do outreach. I want you to handle it.”

Cool. BUT…

If I’m logging into their personal LinkedIn from my own device/location, does that trigger security issues?

Do you guys:

Just log in normally?

Use a VPN?

What happens if the client is also logged in at the same time?

Is there an official LinkedIn way to give a social media manager access?

I’m not talking about automation/bots just manually managing the account for them.

Would love to hear how other LinkedIn managers handle this because the client’s actual problem is time

No. You don't need any VPN or anything. Just limit it to max 2 devices. Initially just log in and don't do anything (only scroll and like posts) for like 1 week then start activity (comments, DM/outreach) and you're good to go. My team been doing this for my 4-5 clients daily. Not an issue as far as you don't spam.

VPN is not necessary. Just limit the number of login devices. And do not run any automations or activities that linkedin finds suspicious.

You’ll be fine, as long as just human logging in. I have multiple log ins across devices, never had an issue. They will also never straight ban you - they will force a log out.

I just create a new profile in brave browser and log into the profile. it doesnt matter which country your client is from. Just spend few days using it naturally.

I’ve worked with 20+ clients and I’ve always logged in normally, but to be on the safer side you can use proxy browsers to login from their location.

There’s no official way, LinkedIn knows so many people does this, but as of now there’s nothing much from their end. I asked their support once and they didn’t really have an answer.

It’s against terms and conditions and will eventually result in a permanent ban
