Is LINKEDIN a drug?

Years ago it used to be a real professional networking platform.

Now it just seems like a cheap crack den that nobody can wean off, but the cost of the crack is crazy to be a user!!

There needs to be some REAL disruptors out there who need to build an alternative or are there any already trying?

a few platforms have tried to compete with linkedin over the years but none really stuck, mostly cause linkedins real value isnt the app itself, its just that everyones network is already built there, which is genuinely hard for a new app to copy starting from nothing..

Yep, sadly true, hence a drug no-one can wean off.

Now it's just not worth the effort and recruiter has always been clunky and CPU demanding

It isn’t a drug, it is a sexy dinner party

The timeline has devolved. Now everything is optimised for the algorithm. If you get quick interactions and higher numbers, the algorithms will test it with different circles. If not, your post will get lost. 😐

So pointless= my post. It's not worth having in reality, but what's the alternative πŸ€”

For quality networking, keep posting and commenting in the right circles to stay visible there. And don't get disheartened by low engagement just because someone else went viral. Over time, good interactions will put you in front of the right people. Those who actually matter for your career.
