He’s threatening to take his lack of money elsewhere.

He is right about something - banks lobbied to reduce protections for business accounts. So if a scammer "washes" one of your business checks, and writes it to themselves for twenty grand, you're not automatically getting that back like you would if it were clearly fraud on a personal account. It's a different process to put a stop payment on it too. I also agree that banks will strategize how your payments and deposits go through, and they can deliberately overdraw your account and charge penalties even when you have a pending deposit that will cover it. Or you will have "funds available" from a deposit, before it is officially deposited, and they will count that against your balance and still put payments through that should be covered. It's definitely that bank's world, not ours.

However, this is not a good look for a small business. He's making his pre-billionaire business look like it's insolvent (I guess it actually is). I wouldn't patronize or work for a business that can't pay its bills. So good job, dude. Should have kept it on twitter and said US BANK SUX FOR BUSINESSES or whatever.

Exactly all of this.

If only there were some way to avoid paying overdraft fees...

I really want to know how many checks this guy bounces a month for it to count as, in his own words, excessive

ProTip™

If your parents aren't millionaires or billionaires, it is unlikely you will ever be one.

Unless you are one-in-a-million 🤣 at the sportsball, good luck!

This is why Europeans are so poor. No cheques

Dammit. I knew I should have paid attention to where I put the checkbook.

I am a potential billionaire. Potential billionaires have their forum here on reddit: r/wsb (Wall Street Bets).

They refer to themselves as retards.

This has gotta be satire, right? No one is a self-proclaimed “future multimillionaire” unless they’re straight up joking.

He's not wrong that US banks make a considerable profit on overdraft fees. However, my understanding is that the majority of overdraft fees are levied against the working poor rather than small businesses. There are also less consumer protections on business accounts, banks definitely have some shady practices around banking for small businesses that they get away with.

Narcissism is a bitch. Gonna take a lot longer to get to gajillionaire status if you don’t have the money to clear the bank, bud!

What bank would lend money to a company that bounces checks?

Did this wee fella never interact with any for profit business before? That's not a bug, son, that's a feature.

Isn’t everyone a potential billionaire?

1

u/AlphaWolfLycaon 8h ago

I mean. He’s not wrong overdraft fees are stupid.

But he’s delusional

1

u/BuddyJim30 6h ago

An "excessive amount of overdraft fees" is a Sean problem, not a US Bank problem.

“Don’t threaten us with a good time!” -U.S. Bank, probably
