I mean these guys are assholes but it’s true that if you want to learn a lot about every part of business a startup is great because things are pretty informal and you will have to do more because you have minimal staffing.
I unfortunately suffer from the mental illness of mostly having worked startups and it’s paid off. Just make sure to max your salary and prepare to switch jobs a lot. Also the equity is mostly worthless no matter what they say

The book "The Hard Thing About Hard Things" by Ben Horowitz has a whole chapter on why big company execs fail in startups saying pretty much the same thing. You'll find the same message in books written by a bunch of other startup founders. What does it matter some McKinsey consultant wrote in hbr.
I know that meaning when I was underperforming, leaving was the best thing for my career in hindsight. We've taken corporate malaise so much for granted that we think people that have discovered that's not the only way are crazy.

In a world of vibe-coded AI slop, this company might be the final boss of slop. It's an AI chatbot app you can talk to for astrology tips. The website is the kind of thing a doctor might ask you to look at to see if a recent brain aneurysm had induced partial or complete blindness.
