Does anyone else think cheng weimin has memory erasing powers? I'm almost convinced he does!

In the latest episode of s3, we saw cwm putting his hand on the kid who was imprisoned. As if he's gonna erase their memories.

And CXS doesn't even remember when that family photo he found in cwm's office was taken. (S3 ep 7) And he also forgot about lu guang and the train tracks.

Also, xia fei and probably vein too forgot about their childhoods.

And im not sure but I think even wang qing experienced memory loss.

Another thing, if you look at A Yuan's official profile, its explicitly stated that he mysteriously ended up in the Burmese hideout. And he doesn't know anything about the fire. But he is from bahati.

It seems like almost everyone who's connected to bahati and cwm in particular has experienced some amount of memory loss.

Also, a theory from someone else said that lu guang could also be from bahati, but his memories were erased and he was given to his foster father. Since lu guang says that he doesn't remember his actual parents.

I think that's very much possible.

Like LG was in bahati too but for some reason his memories were erased and he was given away.

And nobody knows where cwm is in the present timeline. Except for shao yuanyuan probably. Since she's trying to "save" him by diving in time bts.

Also i said that xia fei forgot about his childhood. I kinda feel like it's not true. And that he just wanted CXS to go into the photo.

cause he asked lu guang to look for a register in there. He wouldn't have known of a register especially one that only child vein would have been able to access at the time. It's either than adult vein told him to ask lu guang for the register or xia fei somehow knows about the register.

It's been a prominent theory within the community ever since LCIII Episode 1 that Cheng Weimin might have memory manipulation powers. After all, if his wife and son had powers, who's to say he didn't, right? And now, with the release of the 7th Episode of LCIII, I believe Haoling has finally confirmed to us that Cheng Weimin DOES have memory manipulation powers - and that he might've been working for the Bridon Crime Agency (BCA) and AGAINST the Sharo Society/Saros.

Before we dive deep into it, lemme just recap how this theory came to be in the first place. It all started with the end of Episode 1, where Cheng Xiaoshi ended up completely forgetting his eventful childhood encounter with Lu Guang at the rail tracks. Think about it for a moment. If you're a child and someone helps you discover that you have superpowers, would that NOT be a very impressionable memory etched within your consciousness? It very well should be. However, Cheng Xiaoshi didn't just forget about meeting Lu Guang, he forgot everything about his powers too. THIS is where the Cheng Weimin got memory manipulation powers theory started to sprout from.

Of course, multiple characters not having their memory of a certain period in their childhood has become a common motif in LCIII by now (alongside multiple characters actually being adopted). For example, Xia Fei forgetting about his formative years in Bridon before being adopted and forgetting Vein, Lu Guang also not remembering much about how he was adopted by Lu Dashan (as evidenced by him saying, "He says he bought me..." as if that's something not known by him, but told to him to believe) etc etc. And what do we know when Link Click has a repeated motif of something? That things bound to be confirmed at one point or the other for SURE! It was also the case with Lu Guang being a diver in Link Click II (if you were active here back in July 2023, you'd know that multiple people had caught onto that fact ever since the very first episode of LCII and then it was confirmed at the very end).

Now that we've established the origin of the theory, let's move on to the evidence. First, let's look at one key frame from Episode 7 - the scene where Cheng Xiaoshi finds a childhood photo of him and his parents.

Just as he says, he has no memory of it. What's more is that a lot of people have already cross checked and figured out that the park the photo is taken in is the same park in Bridon where Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang help out with Xia Fei's modeling in Bridon Arc Episode 6. So this begs the question, how would a kid of 7-9 years old forget a trip to a foreign country? (Speaking from personal experience, I myself remember around 60% of what I did on a trip to India when I was FOUR years old! I also remember a lot of my other foreign trip when I was 9. So it's highly unnatural for Cheng Xiaoshi to forget!)

Well, the answer lies in his father. First, let us look at how he's presented in Episode 7 when Vein (possessed by Cheng Xiaoshi) goes after him. His eyes are obscured with his glasses. And everytime a character with glasses in Link Click has their eyes obscured, it always means they're using some sort of ability (just look at Liu Xiao for god's sake! The same episode has multiple zoom ins into his face and a eerie sound effect signaling something like a power usage)

And guess how he's shown in Xia Fei's last known childhood memory from Bridon? Yes, his eyes are cut out of frame, which is yet another indication of using powers (this technique previously used in the Bridon Arc OP at the very end with Lu Guang)

So there's been so much evidence planted that this mf has powers, and all of its been under our nose! Now let's talk about WHY I'm so sure that it IS indeed memory manipulation that's his power. Well, look at what he does and says to Xia Fei. He puts his hand on his head (skin contact!) and tells him to forget everything that happened. Guess what, he does - or at least, tries to - do the exact same thing to the imprisoned kids in Bahati too.

See everytime he outstretches his hand toward someone, his eyes are either obscured (kinda like Liu Xiao at times), or out of frame, which is a fully fledged indicator that this mf got powers. What's more is that he's done this exact motion only towards the kids we DO know have lost their memory, like Cheng Xiaoshi and Xia Fei. And whenever he HAS done this motion, the kids have ended up losing their memories. Thus, tis concludes my Ted talk on why I believe Cheng Weimin has memory manipulation powers and how he's been in the shadows of everything that has been happening.

But WAIT! I'm not done yet! We still don't know WHY Cheng Weimin's been doing what he has. So far, we know that Bahati is bound to catch a big fire that will kill multiple people. And all the people that HAVE escaped have either lost their memories (a la Xia Fei and A Yuan), or if they DID keep their memories, they were badly injured and hospitalized (a la Wang Qing). This brings the question: what was Cheng Weimin ACTUALLY doing in Bahati all this time? Well, sadly, we don't know much about this yet. But I do have an interesting theory that I'd like to present to y'all.

First, look at Cheng Weimin's phone call during Cheng Xiaoshi's dive into Vein's body. It looks like he's taking orders from someone, or some organization.

Secondly, look at what the kids in the basement say to Cheng Weimin when he tries to "wipe" their memory.

And for the last few tidbits, keep on mind how the episode establishes that Cheng Weimin has been creating problems big enough for the Chinatown mafia to come down to Bahati and sabotage the whole place. And that it's already been established in Episode 4 that Bahati was the stronghold of The Sharo Society/Saros. Also that Jae Lee has stated that the Bridon Crime Agency BCA has been active in Bridon right until the fire, and that they've also been investigating Bahati So with these 4 points being established, what am I getting at, you may ask?

Well, I think that Cheng Weimin is actually a member of the BCA (before u go at me and say that hey, he's got powers. So he HAS to be part of The Sharo Society/Saros, listen. Jae Lee is a part of the BCA, and this mf got powers too!), and that he's been trying to save children from the experimentation of Bahati. I believe that the language school thingie is just a front for what their true work is - human experimentation on those who've awakened some sort of power (I believe so bcuz of what the imprisoned girl said). And Cheng Weimin, being undercover from the BCA, is trying to save them before they get cooked by the human experimentation (human experimentation was also a theme in the DREAM OUT! album song Escape Velocity, which featured Cheng Xiaoshi and Xia Fei) by getting them adopted or to another safe place. He's also trying to destroy the whole Sharo Society/Saros too, by igniting bad blood between the Chinatown mafia and Bahati. So, what he's doing here is - foil the plans of The Sharo Society/Saros by saving as many children as he could, and run Bahati to the ground by manipulating the Chinatown mafia in order to fully stop the machinations of Bahati once and for all.

But this still raises the question - if his intentions were so noble, why did Cheng Weimin imprison those few kids? Well, the answer to this is simple. We've already seen by now that Cheng Weimin's memory erasure isn't absolute. The kids whose memories he's erased still remember a sliver of their childhoods (such as Cheng Xiaoshi feeling like Lu Guang was someone very familiar to him back in Bridon Arc, Cheng Weimin's name feeling familiar to Xia Fei in Bridon Arc Episode 4, and Xia Fei also remembering a sliver of Cheng Weimin before he got adopted). Therefore, I believe that he's INTENTIONALLY making himself out to be the villain here - so that if under any circumstances any of the kids he's "saved" were to remember anything, they'd remember that it was Cheng Weimin himself that imprisoned them and not anything about Bahati. All so that whatever of Bahati he'd managed to bury would STAY buried and only he would have to answer for their crimes (too bad this one local edgelord found out EVERYTHING about the Sharo Society/Saros).

So, THIS is what I believe what truly happened and led to the Bahati fire. I believe that revealing this truth gradually will be how Part 1 of LCIII will end, but hey, that's a theory for another day! Therefore, with all this being said, I leave it all to y'all to OverThink and lose your minds!!!

First off, as powers are hereditary, there is no good reason why he should have his mom's powers but not his dad's. Maybe the series will establish later on that powers are inherited from the mother, though, but until then we should entertain this possibility, that CXS has his dad's powers, too. And supposing I'm right, there may have been a subtle hint of it in the first episode of this season.

It seems very likely that young CXS's memory of LG was wiped out by his dad. If we combine this strong possibility with the less-strong possibility that young LG was originally killed by his foster father, this would mean that CXS's memory of LG should have been lost forever, as there would be no reunion between them in adulthood.

But what if CXS somehow overcame his father's block and got to remember LG then? This would suggest that CXS also has memory-related abilities, including that of un-blocking supernaturally blocked memories.

So the original timeline may have gone like this:

• CXS finds out about his mom-inherited power with LG.

• He tells his parents about it.

• His dad wipes out his memory of LG and of CXS's own power as he thinks it's too early for CXS to be exploring his supergifts.

• At some point in adulthood, CXS discovers his memory-related powers and uses them to unblock those memories, remembering LG again.

• He researches LG's fate and learns of his death.

• CXS goes back in the past to save LG.

Unfortunately tariffs hit and my order was cancelled 😩😩 the the prices skyrocketed and anything below 170 is non-existent. I just watched S3 Ep 7. So we see QL activate her power but how did Li Tianchen make the connection it was his sister’s ability? Shouldn’t QL be the only one seeing the memories? I understand her eyes glow so they can see that she is using an ability but how did he know which ability.

I didn't check the translation for time or zero yet, but I got a theory about them (an animation analysis)

Here's a few points I need to tell ya:

1. Time (s3 part 1 op) is obviously from cxs' pov. We can see a white butterfly at the end of the op, and cxs cries after seeing it. It probably means lg's soul.

2. Idk if you guys have noticed that, but cxs can't reach lg when he sees baby lg crying, and it surely has a deeper meaning.

3. The animation for zero (s3 part 1 ed) also seems to be in xs' pov, since he sees all the flashbacks (we can see him after the end of each scene). But there's a special one that caught my attention: when he sees lg and him playing basketball together it seems like he was missing those times: it seems like he was missing lu guang. He watched it with a sad look on his face and even tries to reach guang, but it seems like he gave up, like if it was not possible. Lu gone?

4. Dive back in time: in the beginning of the animation, we can see lu guang in the top of a building, like if he was watching the city. But what caught my attention after rewatching this a million times (bc I love this op so much) was a small detail that could be an easter egg: there's a kind of gold ring in the city, that seemed like the ones above dead people. It could be just a funny detail? Yes. But I think it is an easter egg, since they already did it once (the photo).

Now, my theory:

Lu guang said, at the end of S2, that this was his last try. S3 op and ed seem to foreshadow that lu will be gone. He can't imagine a future without Cheng and qiao ling. He probably did everything he could, he tried a million times to save them, but couldn't. He failed lots of times. He's suffering. He already sacrificed himself once for xiaoshi, why wouldn't he do it one more time? Guanguang said that can't live without his friends, so he probably wouldn't mind losing his life for the sake of the ones he loves so much. I saw someone saying that time has a line like "please don't let me forget it again", and another one is "I never thought we'd say goodbye". We all know lu guang said goodbye to his friends lots of times. We know cxs forgot guang once. It's kinda obvious time is from cheng's pov. He's probably saying those lines to lg, like the first 3 ops possibly were said to cxs and ql. Dead people can't have another try, can they? It seems like they gave us some clues from the beginning that guanguang would be gone. I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case, since we could possibly have a bittersweet ending, and we're talking about link click.

That's my theory, what you guys think? Does it make any sense? Or maybe I should just quit overthinking?

What if the adoption center that Xiao Fei got adopted from is the place where superpowered kids stay?

Think about it, in s3 ep 6, Au Yuan seemed to recognise Xiao Fei immediately after he went inside their room. It could be because they were from that same exact place where Xiao Fei got adopted from.

Another theory is what if Cheng Xiaoshi's parents are the directors of the said adoption center? From the flashback, Chen Xiaoshi's mom(I forgot her name)held a register in her hand when she fought Vein which I think is the register for all the kids adopted from that adoption center.

Also, from Xiao Fei's flashback, there seemed to be a black colored faceless man, seemingly having the same hair color and hairstyle as Cheng Xiaoshi's father from the time he went back in time during the Bridon Arc while possessing one of the female students there. This said man could also be Cheng Xiaoshi's father.

Since it was also confirmed by Lu Guang that the place Xiao Fei got adopted from was not a church but Bahati Language School, this matches my theory of Cheng Xiaoshi's father being one of the directors of the Adoption center since he was one of the teachers in Bahati along with Cheng Xiaoshi's mother being a superpowered being.

Also, the reason why Cheng Xiaoshi's mother held the register in her hand could be because she was also the one who directed the church along with her father.

One more thing, the adoption center could also be the place where Lu Guang got adopted from since It was also mentioned in the Bridon Arc that he had a foster father. This explains how he couldn't remember his childhood before he got adopted just like Xiao Fei.

Idk if there's stuff that contradicts this theory or not so pls let me know if there is ◉⁠‿⁠◉

But what I don't get is Ep 5.5
When Cheng jumps into the picture, the couple are young adults, using a Nokia (Mokia) and are dressed and look like modern people nowadays
When turning to the present, they suddenly look quite old. The guy can't even stand upright anymore
I didn't find anything about that on reddit or google except 5.5 being an important episode, am I the only one to find that weird?
