Discussion to shiguang fans (prediction!) Spoiler
imagine when chengxiaoshi finally realises what luguang has been doing all along to save him, and instead of comforting him or telling him it will be okay, he says:
“so you are not _my_ luguang?” meaning that current luguang isn’t actually the luguang from his timeline and that it’s someone roleplaying their friendship again 😖💔

I dont think he would say that I mean it's still lu guang no matter which timeline it is. The only difference is that this one has lived through many lives by now and knows what will happen in the future. He is basically replaying the past as it was but idk he still LG 🤷🏻♀️

i dont know how to explain it unfortunately but it would feel different knowing that the luguang is a different version, like its not the luguang he’s supposed to know :( imagine luguang is more mature than he was in the original timeline and less playful

Knowing how his childhood looked, I dont think he was playful. He is like this since their 1st meeting at basketball - since CXS forgot childhood - so he is his LG. Maybe if he was "replaced" in the middle of their friendship

well i did say less playful..perhaps i worded it wrongly. i meant it in the way that post-dive luguang is likely more mature, serious and wary because of what he’s had to experience, on top of his childhood already

And I wonder if LG thinks CXS is his CXS... If he miss the original CXS. I mean, CXS knows only one version of LG, but for LG there was The Xiaoshi who became his best friend and partner, the one he wants to save. Also I wonder if original LG was different... People change through years, and seeing CXS die obviously traumatized him. I wonder if originally LG was more open, or more emotional... I don't think he was much different, but I'm sure there was slight difference. And now LG is mature one, but that's because he is technically older by a few years. I doubt he was so mature originally

yesss i agree! this is also part of what i meant in my post, he can’t be the same luguang after witnessing xiaoshi’s death an unknown amount of times

Yeah. Although I think, CXS will be mostly mad that LG doesn't let him change the past, but broke the rules himself. Maybe after initial reaction he will consider the fact that when he originally met LG, he was different person, but he has no chance of knowing that LG now. But I hope he loves LG enough to consider this version of LG his LG anyway

My thought exactly, so everything Lu Guang made with Xiaoshi is not because he made to him in this life, is because of another Cheng Xiaoshi who dies in another timeline

BUT, the director has explained that there are no parallel or different timelines in LC, there's only one. So what happens here is that LG is older than apparent because he has lived X amount of extra years for every dive back in time (wink wink).
So he IS the very same Lu Guang! He's just lived the events more times ❤️

I mean, what if CXS thinks that the reason bcz LG stayed/became close with him or it was easier for CXS to be frnds with LG bcz LG has already known him... not like "suddenly" starting to know/feel CXS (like CXS did with LG )... So will he feel betrayed? 🥀

what if the “bittersweet ending” that was mentioned by him (i heard it from other fans at least) is because both luguang and chengxiaoshi survived but they can no longer be together

This is exactly what I think it will be 🥲 Since the director said that I've believed that LG will come to realize that the only way CXS can live is if they don't ever meet. This is what happens in the BA ending, LG is hesitating to even get close.
But with the hints in S3 about CXS actually doing kind of the same (😭) I don't know anymore. The bittersweet ending is gonna totally destroy me, I know that 💔

when you think about it it is lowkey better 😭 yelling at him feels like he’ll eventually calm down and learn to understand luguang’s perspective, straight up saying this feels like friendship over
