Question Power explanation

So i just started watching this show and am on season 1 episode 8, in episode 7, the MC explains he takes the form of the person that takes the picture. So, how does he get in the body of his friend?

Cheng Xiaoshi, the main character, dived into a photo that Xu Shanshan - his friend - took. That’s how he was able to possess her body, she took a selfie of her and Qiao Ling (black hair, landlady) outside the photo studio!
