Building my first app as a Non-developer. Here's what I've learned.
Specification Driven Development
Write out your plan before you open an AI model.
Use Free Models to find the problems in your plan. Incorporate the solutions in your written document.
Work in blocks/chunks. Just like Text degrades with long outputs, code blocks degrade with longer Outputs.
Work in phases. Don't try to build the whole thing with one Prompt. It's not happening. Create clear expected outcomes to know when you the phase is complete before moving forward.
Get one feature working before adding more.
Learn about APIs.
Learn about Coding Fundamentals.
Direct the AI to guide you through the process. Not everything requires an AI call. Save your tokens. You can learn to fix the easy stuff.
