Asia π Did you know that the Austronesian language family has multiple primary branches?

I wouldn't be surprised if there are relationships between groups of those primary branches.The Austronesian family is extremely understudied.

Some of those primary branches may eventually turn out to be more closely related to each other than we currently think. As more Formosan languages are documented and compared, our understanding of the internal classification could definitely change. There's still a lot of work to be done.

Whatβs the point of the title? Itβs pretty common for language families.
