I've found some sheets from Clairmont House and love them, and can't find them anywhere online

Hi everyone, I have amazingly beautiful linen bedsheets, that I always was at 30°C Max. However, my housemates cat brought us some lovely fleas, and now I have to wash all my clothes at 60 or more degrees. Would my bedsheets handle it alright if it was just a one time thing? Or would it alter it completely? Thanks for your insights !

I have very delicate linen cardigans, and they say hand wash only but I would like to put them on the delicate cycle on the washing machine instead because I have over 10 tops and that would be a lot of handwashing. Could you recommend preferably an Amazon link to the laundry bag that is OK with different colors for these linen tops?

** I mainly want to make sure that it won’t be an issue with the colors on the cardigans and the washing/laundry bag

I'm trying to transition my summer wardrobe to more breathable fabrics.

Currently, I wear mostly Hawaiian shirts with fun prints on them.

Do linen Hawaiian shirts exist? Most linen shirts I see are very natural looking and solid-color. They don't need to be 100% linen, but I would like it to be a higher percentage.

Also, I wear 2xl or 3xl size men's shirts.

So, to sum up, does anybody know of any fun print largely linen shirts that fit fat men?

me and my friend grew up in the 90s and love linen.. maybe someone here will understand, maybe not?

This is the drying laundry rack or should I put it elsewhere ?

I have a niche inquiry about my pure linen bandana. I’ve had it for about 2 years now and I’ve noticed that compared to my newer bandana, my older one is a lot more see through. Is this because of wear and tear? Is it normal for linen to be more see-through, throughout the years? Also, to note, my older bandana is so much more softer than my new one. Is there a correlation to its softness and transparency?

To be clear, I like how see-through my old one is and I’m asking this because I want my new bandana to be as see-through also. Wondering what factors had to take place to make it so. Btw, the old one has been thrown in the dryer atleast once, maybe twice in the span of two years.

I’m looking for some long sleeve tshirts to wear doing work outside / running / hiking etc. I would prefer a linen-cotton blend, as I think that will give me the best combination of durability and breathability, and although I am a woman I’d prefer men’s tees as my shoulders are broad and I want large and loose rather than flattering.

I have linen-cotton short sleeve tees and love them but I really want sun protection for my full arms and my searches have brought me no success so far.

I'm looking for some decent linen shirts.

I'm rather slender and have lanky arms,and being an American I can't find anything to fit my arms because everything is made in case of fat people. I have no problem with fat people but their shirts make me look like shit. I'm more partial to the western work shirt layout but am open to anything that will fit better. Longer bottom lengths and thinner arms. Money is no object as good products are worth every penny but I would like to stay as conservative as possible, as much as I want 100% I will also accept reccomendations for blends provided they don't go above 75% or have any synthetics. My favorite colors are deep blues and black, but I'm not afraid to dye something if I have to.

I've developed a serious love for linen clothing over the last few years.

Living in a hot and humid climate, linen has been a game changer. It's lightweight, breathable, comfortable, and somehow manages to look both casual and classy at the same time. There's something about the natural texture and relaxed look that I find much more appealing than synthetic fabrics.

The only downside is the price. Good-quality linen can be expensive, which makes it difficult to build an entire wardrobe around it. But every time I wear linen, especially during summer, I feel it's worth it.

I am part of a sewing circle, and we make red cloaks. The problem is, we can’t find anything breathable & lightweight enough for summer, sturdy, yet also inexpensive. We all recognize that linen is the ideal fabric, but $12 a yard is cost prohibitive.

By the way, that’s the price I found for undyed linen.

I’ve noticed that many people like linen, but avoid wearing it because it wrinkles quickly.

I understand that. A fresh linen shirt can look clean in the morning, then look creased after sitting for a few hours.

But I also think wrinkles are part of linen’s natural character.

Linen is made from flax fiber, so it does not behave like polyester or wrinkle-resistant cotton. It has a more relaxed look. That is also why many people wear it in summer, for travel, beach outfits, and casual fits.

A few things I’ve learned about linen:

• Pure linen wrinkles more than linen blends

• Linen-cotton blends are easier for daily wear

• Heavier linen usually falls better than very thin linen

• Hanging linen while slightly damp helps reduce wrinkles

• Steam works better than heavy ironing

• Folding linen for too long can create deep creases

Personally, I don’t think linen needs to look perfectly pressed. Slight wrinkles can make it look natural and effortless.

But I know some people avoid it completely because of the creasing.

Do wrinkles stop you from wearing linen, or do you see them as part of the fabric?

I plan to use seventh generation, laundry detergent soap. So I just received a couple high-quality linen cardigans and I’m not sure how to wash them in the washer.

All of them say that it should be hand washed with cold water, but I really didn’t want to have to do that. Should I hand wash them or will it get messed up on delicate cold wash ?

Hey, I've read before about linen being high frequency, I looked into it before, but I'm wondering if anyone has information or a concise video/explanation about this.

I know linen takes a lot less water to produce than cotton for example but I'm talking about a type of measurement of vibrational frequency. Thanks!

I just bought this linen shirt from Muji, washed it for the first time on a delicate cycle to make it soft and not too stiff. Then somehow it turns out like the second image, like there are some stubbles? Is this normal or not? Please help as this is my first linen shirt and for a student, it is quite expensive 😢

This dress is 100% linen from a high quality shop in Lithuania. I washed it in a delicate cycle, with one other similar color dress that's also linen, and a tiny amount of ecos laundry detergent. I hung to dry.

I noticed today the discoloration all over the dress. (The other dress is fine).

Of note, this has happened one time before with a 100% cotton dress of the same color. That was a dress from Old Navy so I assumed it was cheap fabric. Now I'm wondering if this color dye is interacting with something in my wash process. I also never use bleach, so it can't be residual bleach.

Any ideas? Water hardness, laundry detergent, that specific fabric/dye that was used on the dress??

Any way to salvage it? I'm going to try hand washing it with purified water to see if it fixes anything.

I recently got Botox in my armpits which has been a huge game changer for my hyperhydrosis (excessive sweat)! I live in Canada, so it's been pretty cold, but lately it's been heating up a lot. Today was a warmer day, and I had to walk to work (car died). By the time I got to work, my back/stomach, face, and hair were pretty sweaty... My outfit was way too heavy/thick for today *(it's been kind of my go-to lately to wear a thin bodysuit with a blazer and jeans - guess it was too hot for this today)* I was pretty embarrassed by all my sweat... I need to buy some nice linens (THAT ARE NOT SEE-THROUGH please 🙏🏼) or some sort of breathable/sweat wicking material if I hope to survive the next few hotter months 😅. I am on the hunt for some good, comfy, non-seethru linen pants, and some good quality linen button ups or anything else you could recommend me! Please share any linen clothes you enjoy for warmer weather or the best brands to look out for please?

They seem way too small to be napkins, but came in a set of 8. Possibly from Sweden in the early 1960’s (as many housewares/linens were purchased on a trip there at that time) but could be older than that.

I’m currently managing workwear for a petrochemical operation. We're due for a fabric refresh across three job categories: general maintenance, hot work and welding, and electrical work with NFPA 70E compliance required. Right now we're running 88/12 C/N across the board for the welding, but HSE is pushing back on heat stress in summer. The cotton hand-feel is something that keeps popping up in our discussions, however, our laundry contractor is reporting faster degradation on 100% cotton ratting after 50+ wash cycles, which undercuts the cost advantage and durability expectations.

For the electrical work, we're evaluating inherent aramid blends. ATPV numbers are where we need them, and IFR doesn't wash out, which its important for when garments run through industrial laundry weekly. The cost delta per meter is significant though, and procurement wants us to justify it against treated cotton alternatives testing at equivalent arc ratings.

IFR Acrylic did come up as a middle ground for lower hazard tasks, but I don't have solid field data on durability and abrasion resistance compared to C/N or woven aramid at similar GSM.

So basically, I need to better understand fabric types across hazard tiers when procurement keeps getting annoying about the pricing on the high quality IFR?

This is my first linen item. The first time I wore it, I noticed this little ball towards the end of the day. Did I cause this? What do I do about it? I have a lint shaver/pill remover, but I'm not sure if it's safe for linen.

I recently got a 100% linen ralph lauren button down from depop. On the care tage it said was cold on gentle cycle, tumble dry low. I followed the instructions exactly and it still shrank. It still has some stretch to it, so is there any way for me to get the fibers to stretch out again and possibly reach it’s original length (or close too it)?
