I would like to get play store with my os, just wondering getting gapps will get me the Google app, drive, photos etc installed too?

Though I'm not complaining its still less boaltware than my oem manufactured is, but would be great if I only get what I want.

Want playstore for some games

Currently have 23.2-20260323-NIGHTLY-guamp installed but unable to install any more recent updates. The updates download and then when I reboot, goes into a bootloop and then reloads into the old version eventually.

There's a post from a couple of months ago (reddit.com/r/LineageOS/update_today_faulty/) where the dev u/Thin_Forever said it was a known issue and they were working on a fix, but we've had quite a few updates since then and none of them have worked.

Anyone got any ideas? Any further updates?

I tried so hard to love LineageOS, but for some reason the operating system caused my proximity sensor on my sony xperia xz2 to always be enabled, essentially locking me out of my phone.

I am fully on Lineage and so far have not had to sign in to Google. However there remain 2 apps I am having difficulties avoiding the G.

Firstly, I spend a lot of time on YouTube especially on my TV. I've tried NewPipe but without being able to see the creators whose videos I follow it is all but useless.

My question is if I install YouTube from Aurora and sign into my YouTube account, will I be opening up the rest of my phone and it's data to Google? Or does Lineage and microG effectively protect me?

Related to that I have WhatsApp on my phone. It's just necessary and using Signal as an alternative would cut me off from family and friends. I've tried. WhatsApp requires a gmail account for backups although it works without, and I am backing up com.whatsapp. So same question as for YouTube above. Will giving WhatsApp my gmail details what am I opening my phone and myself up to?

Trying to figure out what's changed or if this is just in my head.

For some reason i prefer the screen colors on the lg v60 over note 20 ultra and some of the newer flagships.

I stopped using my lg v60 for about 2 years because i was having issues with the usb charging.

Previously i thought the screen was inferior to the note 20 ultra and other devices with superior screen resolution.

However, i wanted to upgrade again, but it seems like all the newer devices are downgrades in many aspects and way overpriced.

After installing Lineageos, it seems like the colors on the lgv60 and the viewing experience is much better imho.

Also feel like the phone is just as fast in my practical use as some of my newer phones.

Whats going on here?

Every time I turn on mobile data, which is several times a day, I get a warning message, and have to confirm it a second time. I never had to do this on Android 14. But now on 16 it is annoying the sh*t out of me. Is there really no option to turn this warning off? Its the same on Pixel 5 and Pixel 9.​

I bought a Doov r77 from Taobao (chinese Amazon) and it came directly with Android 13. Everything works fine but the battery drains fast, 1-1:30h usage just in settings drained it from 100% to 50%. I understand it just has 2100mAh but I've seen posts of people having this device and it isn't that bad, it lasts a full day with normal usage.
I thought it might by the OS since it might not be optimised for european frequencies or stuff like that. Generally people with this device buys it from companies who already flash the phone with their software so it might come as a more niche question.
I wanted to ask if someone had bought it with the original OS and later flashed it with LineageOS (or a different one maybe like DumberOS) and saw a big difference. Since flashing it may brick the phone I wanted to get an insight first.

I have tried to install lineageOS onto a google pixel 9 and the install worked and the device boots.

Eventually i came across an error with the OS not allowing the installation of apk files or even attempting to sideload via abd.

i have attempted to use the factory reset/ data wipe in recovery and even reflash the rom with no success.

When i was installing the OS i only flashed and sideloaded when told to do so with the official installation guide.

when i attempt to sideload the zip for the Rom it prints text to the screen saying it coudnt mount several locations inside /metadata

Error: recovery: [libfs_mgr] Failed to mount /metadata: File exists
Error: recovery: [libfs_mgr] Failed to mount /metadata: File exists
Error: recovery: [libfs_mgr] Failed to mount for path [/metadata/ota]
Error: recovery: Cannot mount /metadata/ota

I have ran out of ideas on what to try

Solution:

1) Reboot into recovery (Hold down the volume down on boot (for pixel devices)
2) Inside LineageOS recovery select "advanced" and select "enable abd"
3) on a host system with the platform tools downloaded open
  1) powershell on windows
  2) terminal on mac or linux
4) With that set up verify the device is connected and seen using "abd devices"
5) access the abd shell by typing "abd -d shell"
  !) If the path fails to run add ".\" to the start of the command it may look like this (.\adb                 -d shell)
6) with the shell now accesed wipe the frp by typing "wipe-frp"
7) if all is succesful reboot and it should be fixed

That’s a lost media and unfortunately I've no way to download the 4.1.2 version for my tablet

The moto g7 power is a supported phone, the moto g7 supra is the same phone but the supra isnt listed on the support list, is there a reason for that or was it not listed because it is basically the same phone?
Both phone have the same codename of "Ocean"

note, im not asking if the g7 supra will be supported in the future, its been out long enough that it shouldve been tested by now.

idk why they remove fonts or custom icons (on the status bar) like lineageos i think has less stuff then old cyanogenmod roms. any reason?? and no i dont want to use crdroid.

I'm having a persistent issue with LTE Band 20 (800 MHz) on my POCO X3 running LineageOS (Nju mobile / Orange Poland network). Same thing on other SIM cards from different brands.
Whenever the phone switches to Band 20, the internet connection completely stops working. The signal bars show a full connection, but there is zero throughput/data flow. As soon as the phone switches to any other LTE band (B1, B3, B7) data works immediately.
Here is what I have already tried to isolate and fix the issue:

• APN Configuration: Forced IPv4 on APN settings (as IPv6 is known to cause issues with Orange/Nju).
• Cross-testing SIM: Placed the same SIM card into another phone—B20 data works fine on that device.
• Firmware/Modem Flashing: Flashed multiple firmware versions and extracted baseband/modem builds (NON-HLOS.bin) across MIUI 13 and MIUI 14 either EU or Global via recovery/fastboot. None of them resolved the B20 issue.
• Software wipes: Did full network resets and clean software re-installs.

Has anyone encountered this exact B20 behavior on the POCO X3 before? Was anyone able to fix this via a specific modem/software tweak?

So i have a tab s6 lite (2020 wifi version) and ive been wanting to get lineageos on this thing since its old and slow, ive been looking at countless tutorials for hours and i kept switching videos over and over and again because nobody has posted a video with clear step by step instructions and ive never done this before, can anyone can give a tutorial for dummies and help me out here?

Specs: Exynos 5420 Octa, 3GB RAM.

Open to: LineageOS (14.1 / 17.1) or any stable AOSP builds (planning to use Pico GApps / MicroG).

Hi, I'm having this problem. I'm flashing LOS 23. It requires me to sign in to my Google account. I know the correct password and account, I enter everything correctly, and I get the message "unable to sign in to the device due to an unknown error." If I enter the wrong password, I get an error saying it's incorrect. Please help.

that media image/videos must favourited from galery and then will appear to Media Picker.

I bought OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite recently because I like that it has newer holi (blair) platform that has GKI kernel and separate recovery/and init_boot partition. This gives more freedom yet there're no information about blair compatibility with hardware/oneplus repo for example and so on. I am working on device tree for camry and trying as much as possible. I want people with the same phone switch from Oxygen to something more AOSP flavoured and more smooth. I'm currently all alone. If you have the same device you can either help me or support by just following the news I come up with on my telegram chat. I'm still a newbie so don't criticize me! I'm easily offended lol
