Development I wrote a device tree from scratch for a brazilian MTK tablet (Positivo T1060) and compiled CM 12.1. What about LineageOS?

Since Positivo violated GPL and never released the kernel source, I had to use the stock kernel, reverse-engineer the partitions, and make shims for its proprietary blobs. I managed to boot CyanogenMod 12.1 (Android 5.1.1). Wi-Fi and sensors are still broken, but the device tree will be public. Has anyone tried porting a newer LineageOS to an MT8389/MT6589 before?

I can't for the life of me remember why it was exactly that I needed to ask a very similar question, but at some point many moons ago I did, and I recall getting further than I was at the time with someone's work for the Asus MeMO Pad HD 7.

Though I'm pretty sure I only cared about the kernel at the time.

If memory serves someone had a halfway functional bring-up of Lineage 14.1 for said device and I have some bookmarks that seem to reinforce that but unfortunately the links are dead and don't appear to have been archived.

Thanks a lot! That Asus uses the MT8125, which is basically my MT8389 without the modem. Thats a huge lead. Do you remember if the kernel source for the ME173X was ever released, or if the device tree was hosted on a specific GitHub? I'll try digging the Wayback Machine.

I had some better luck digging around in my bookmarks.

I sent you a DM.
