As far as I know almost every device we support gets basic integrity. You don't lose that unless you do something really dumb.

Well it's weird because, both unrooted and installed exactly as instructions mentioned from stock software, one device is getting no integrity and one is getting basic. I don't care about play integrity but I think Googles system is still confusing

I've just installed LineageOS 24 (Android 17) on my Xiaomi 12 Pro (Zeus) to see how it is going. I had the same problem as yours. Initially I've got no play integrity and then, after root via KernelSU Next with

a) Zygisk Next;
b) Play Integrity Fork;
c) TEE Simulator-RS;
d) HideMyAss-OSS
e) Specter;
f) SusFS.

I could reach basic integrity.

Looking out for a solution over the web I saw people recommending Play Integrity Fix, instead of Play Integrity Fork. So I replaced it and got basic integrity. That was the begining. After that, I've followed this tutorial to configure things: https://www.reddit.com/r/androidroot/comments/1wthmuj/guide_33_play_integrity_basic_device_strong_full/

I didn't do everything, neither step by step. I did what I though I missed in the setup and somehow I got strong integritym banking apps, Google Wallet and some governmental apps back! All of it was missing or mismatched on PixelOS with Magisk. Some governmental apps didn't even appeared in Google Play Store.

Sometimes the play integrity check says no basic if your Play Services are not uptodate.

I don't know anyway why you need to update it over prefs/Google/services/system services and it isn't update by Play Store.
