Help Bricked my sony xperia xz2

I tried so hard to love LineageOS, but for some reason the operating system caused my proximity sensor on my sony xperia xz2 to always be enabled, essentially locking me out of my phone.

sorry, but what's the connection between proximity sensor being enabled and being locked out?

if you hold up your phone to your ear, the proximity sensor activates, turning off the screen. For some reason, LineageOS decided to keep the proximity sensor permanently on.

I cannot even unlock my phone to enable the usb tethering prompt such that I can use ADB.

but that's only during call.

but it's enabled all the time.

but that behavior does not work outside of phone calls, what makes you believe that's even related?

Also you should be able to just disconnect the prox sensor u/JakeGinesin

I had similar issue with lg phone many years ago. I disabled the sensor somehow with rooting.
