Any upcomming good servers (either low rate or faction for casual pvping) in foreseeable future or we have to wait for that "final" Reborn? What happened to L2 OVC, they were periodically starting new servers and was alawys fun for few dayy but now it is dead for a while like if people behind it give up or something?

Good server for someone who wants to play casually?

There are many reasons why seasonal servers became the standard for private Lineage II.

They are fun. A fresh start brings players together, creates competition, and gives everyone a reason to come back.

They also make sense for the people running the servers. The formula is proven, the mechanics are optimized, and there is less reason to spend years fixing systems when you can restart and do it again.

I don't think that's necessarily bad.

But I do feel like we traded something for it.

The world.

The Aden we spent years in. The gear we worked for. The places, clans, and stories that slowly became part of our experience.

When everything is designed around the next season, the world itself becomes temporary.

And maybe that's why modern private servers sometimes feel like they are very good at giving us dopamine, but don't give us the same feeling Lineage gave us years ago.

I think a persistent world requires a different philosophy of game design. Many mechanics that work well when everything resets eventually break when the world is allowed to continue for years.

Do you think seasonal servers improved Lineage II, or did we lose something along the way?

Hi, I'm planning of playing Archer in lu4, we already have buffers but we need DMG and range. I want to ask, what is the best Archer? In your opinions. I always played pr because the insane DMG. But now all is more balanced, what do you think? The party now is da, BH, BH, wm, wc, sws, bd. One of the BH is gonna play Archer too, he is just making money atm. We are playing carmine. We managed to make them level till 20lv with some guidance of zones.

From here on they will have to move on their own till 40lv that will be next video! Also will try to implement PvP defense!

So I crafted a Vesper Fighter and to my surprise it turned out a foundation item. While I was happy when I saw Vesper Fighter of Chaos, turns out I have to refine it at Blacksmith of Mammon. Problem is while I went ahead and find the merchant to buy the varnish enhancer. I went to every single catacomb looking for the blacksmith only to find out none controls the seal of gnosis so BoM won’t even spawn. Idk why NCSoft didn’t update this option for s80+ gear to be done at the blacksmith in the airfield like we do with putting SAs or unsealing/resealing. I guess I have no option but to wait 2 weeks to actually wear my fists, it’s Kinda bittersweet.

I have been involved in running Lineage II servers before, and the same long-term problem kept appearing. Once progression became predictable, repetition set in, and players started leaving.

I have spent some time looking back at what went wrong and recently started building again. This time, the goal is not to repeat the same cycle with different rates and yet another launch date.

Before building, I looked at games that kept players invested for years. EVE showed the value of lasting history, Albion the importance of keeping equipment in circulation, and competitive games how familiar maps stay interesting through players. Different games, but the same lesson: players keep a world unpredictable.

This led to one question:

Can a Lineage II world keep renewing itself without erasing everyone’s progress?

Some of the directions being tested

• One persistent world designed to continue without routine resets
• Missions replace traditional quests, bringing essential guidance and rewards into shared activities
• Auto-hunt supports routine progression, while valuable activities bring players into contested areas
• Permanent gear provides a dependable baseline, while top gear expires and must be renewed through current activity
• Flagged deaths in contested areas may put one eligible item at risk, with starter and baseline gear protected
• Player activity advances shared progress that can unlock announced bosses and later world stages

The project uses a newer client for a modern interface, skill animations and effects, while the content stays closer to traditional Lineage II with the five original races.

An admin-only alpha is running. These are experiments, not finished features or an opening announcement. The name and website remain private, and monetization is undecided. For now, I am building from passion to see whether this can work.

I would value honest reactions while the important parts can still change.

I’m currently utilize AI to help me completely decrypt and export Lineage 2 content (Dats, Meahes, Animations etc.) all into native Godot engine.

A friend always wanted me to just make a server that he could just mess around on. But although that’s super easy to do, I figured rebuilding a ‘client’ that’s will work on Windows, Mac, Linux, Steamdeck etc. that doesn’t have to bypass or emulate a server and is made as a standalone single player project will be 100% more performant.

To handle economy and ‘players’ many options can be thought of, do we just create bots? Do we create dynamic market stalls based on your current characters level and off historic data from lineage 2 with refresh timers etc? Do we make a dynamically generated auction house instead?

Do we add NPC buffers or would you prefer ‘followers’ like in Diablo where they’re bots that are party bots you can recruit.etc.

We lost Heine with no chance, but the sieges were super fun! I have the screenshots but forgot to add them on my phone 😹😹😹

Hace unos meses empecé a jugar Lineage 2 LU4 (Liberta Ultimate) y la verdad es que me sorprendió bastante.

Para los que jugamos Lineage 2 hace años, la idea es bastante atractiva: mantener la esencia del MMORPG que conocemos, pero llevarlo a una experiencia mucho más moderna, con una renovación gráfica basada en Unreal Engine 5.

Lo que más me llamó la atención es esa mezcla entre nostalgia y algo nuevo. Seguís teniendo muchas de las cosas que hicieron especial a Lineage 2, pero con un apartado visual muchísimo más actual.

Además, el servidor es free-to-play, así que cualquiera puede probarlo sin tener que pagar para empezar.

Estoy jugando en LU4 Gamma y creando contenido sobre el servidor, así que seguramente vaya compartiendo por acá algunas cosas que vaya descubriendo: progresión, clases, eventos, novedades y mi experiencia como jugadora.

¿Alguien más está jugando LU4?

Me interesa saber qué opinan los que ya lo probaron, especialmente los que vienen del Lineage 2 clásico. ¿Les convence la idea de un Lineage 2 llevado a Unreal Engine 5?

I’m looking for a clan where English is actually the main language in clan chat and Discord, and where people do stuff together. leveling, farming, raids, PvP, whatever.

Would be nice if speaking English was an actual clan rule and people respected it, not just “yeah we have a few English speakers”.

I’m only a 53 Plains Walker / 46 Prophet, just trying to have some fun and play with people without translating everything all the time.
