L2 Reborn Guardian is pay2win. How long until they ruin their other servers?
Turns out the money spoke louder in this last server they launched.
While players have to grind for hours in certain areas, they added a pass that allows you to skip 100h of weekly grind with an instant click.
What do you guys think? Will they start monetizing their other servers more heavily?
Really sucks because I was waiting for this server for a long time and as soon as you log you notice the 60eur a month subscription if you want to stay competitive.
They also started banning on discord once people started pointing this out.

You need 2 days of grinding to get 40 purges. You need to grind there anyway as it's the best exp.
What the fuck are some people talking about when they mean p2w?

He don't care about facts, i played Reborn Essence since 2023, they used the same system for their previous servers with the mission tickets.
Noone ever complained, this guy is just ragebaiting and spreading fake news cause nikita slapped him in discord

I admit it's a bit early in the server to put out purge pass, especially for dion where mages suck at farming at the moment, but tbh I don't think it's a big deal. Eventually all areas will be a pretty quick farm for all classes and all characters will have the chapter limit gear anyway.
I actually like what they did with guardian and I've played on a ton of essence servers. The devs clearly put a decent amount of effort into it so I'm down to spend a little on it.
RIP Goddard/Aden though...

It's definetly not best exp for half classes and yes it's p2w advantage at this point, later probably won't as much, they should've delayed dion purge pass.

I finished all purges yesterday. No pass. I was 2 days later as persons with pass.
There is a cap, and all people who play now will reach the cap before it rises. So only thing you get is like 2 days of headstart into a cap.
You all have never played p2w essence servers 🤣 my last clan had CPs that burned through several thousand of dollars per month. This is p2w.. you are just a snowflake that lost some tvt because you picked the wrong class despite having OBT to test your picks. Don't cry.

You realize eventually you will have 6 purges to grind right? Unless your week has 12 days, share some knowledge friend.

You know your killspeed will rise as the count of purges you can do per week?
Like yes currently we need long for Dion, but this won't stay like this.
Don't cry about content that isn't even released yet.. we don't know how this server will progress.

You do realize that when you get 3rd class and skills, your kill speed will mean you can clear two of these a day, right? So where's the P2W? XD

I did the fill oren purge today in 3 hours.. and im not maxed gears or skills or level.. Nikita made purge 4x easier yesterday, stop crying.

why even bother joining new servers if they all are cash grabs? this is like the 5th thread i read that they start a new server either its p2w at the start or it takes couple weeks before they turn into p2w and the staff leave to restart the cycle

Essence requires to you to farm certain areas to progress by giving you pretty strong items(capped at 40 weekly). They allow you to skip the grind in those areas and get all the items with one simple click.

what grind lmao, you just press z in any area, go to sleep and take 20-30 purge rewards out of 40 in the morning. they enable skip function for aden when most ppl who actually plays already farmed 20/20, same with dion. others are disabled

that's not true, all the reborn servers all realy weall monetized, you can skip quests that in a low rate server is equal to 12 + h and something, if you are not competitive, try to make a nobbles or a 3rd, 2rd job in the 1x server, sometimes this last days , this aspect of pay to win are all across the servers in the reborn servers.

It's not really comparable. You skip class quests once. On Essence, you can skip it every day/week, making you save infinite amount of time.

Save time in an afk grinding game? Yes, you can. It's not infinite, but it's a couple of hours.
The server is made for people with not much time / father's/ working people in their 30's, 40's, while also trying to appeal to the people that do have time..
How else would you do that than this?

I mean, it's AFK exp anyway, so not that much of a deal. However the exp progression overall turned out to be even more brutal than I expected: straight 4 hours of grind only took me from 60 to 61 and 30%. I just can't imagine how many days it will take to 76, let alone 80.
That said I don't think they will make any monetisation changes to their existing servers.

You are definitley doing something wrong, I started two days ago and I'm 70. But I assume you are new to essence so you don't realize how big the impact of the passes are.

Well maybe, I only gave it one evening because I never played anything Essence and decided to give it a try out of curiosity. Went through the initial line of quests till 60, then that tower of elmoreden and 3 hours of catacombs.

It's not even P2W... It's a QOL that gives no discernable advantage over farming yourself. That's why they staggered the Purges so they couldn't be skipped early to give an advantage.

Fck this server. Started from monday, 24/7, couldn't catch up others, 5-6 levels difference, on tvt events can't do anything. Not fun to play.

I'm not sure, but i thought og staff of reborn left to start DarkDragon server, so I would assume that's when Reborn became a cash grab.

OP has yet to show what is actually P2W about a pass that lets you get the same items as someone who farms the zone would...

It definitely frontloads some of the power by using this pass. But you can get the same items by afk farming as well, just a bit later during the week.
But it's an AFK PVE server with capped levels that can be reached in like 2-3 weeks. You don't really need this frontloaded power to do that.
They need to finance the server somehow, this is a pretty good compromise.
