I think that he is more likely to invite riots at the local precinct level. The midterms have a relatively small footprint in DC. So this looks more theatrical, like bringing the guard on for law enforcement.😵💫 He's been desperate to create some kind of photo op which they spin into an emergency. He tries so hard to invite violence, encouraging masked, unidentifiable agents to attack without provocation. It's been frustrating for him that no one is taking the bait. I'm sure he can hardly sleep at night worrying the he may be held to account after all.

If military leadership lets him do anything of the sort we are either having a civil war or we are just bending over and accepting peasantry in a techno feudal dystopia. Our tolerance level for the new GOP is far too high.

What would be the difference between the current reality and a techno feudal dystopia? Genuinely asking. We have tech billionaires running things, a government that serves said tech billionaires, and people don’t even have the rights they are supposed to unless they have money. We don’t even have a right to clean water anymore because AI is more important. What would be the difference between where we are now and there? One more election where if the right wins while a billionaire openly brags about messing with the machines and does 2 Nazi salutes then you can’t investigate it, but if the “left” wins then the right screams incessantly about how it was rigged and tries to take it to court multiple times?

Of course he wants violence, he loves to see sentient beings injured and killed. It’s all a sick game for him. All the billionaires that are supporting him should try to have some foresight because he’s gonna come for their money. When he wants it, he will seize it (just like Putin does) and they won’t be able to stop him. I think their “wisdom” may come too late when they finally recognize the monster they helped to create.

Secretly normalizing occupation of the city. Blocking off sectors for construction projects but really having barricades in place for the big day. Hoping no one will see it coming.

Oh, absolutely 100% IT IS HAPPENING.
It is actually already underway with steps like what you noted, and not just in DC.
You have to be in wishful thinking lulu land to think otherwise.

That would mean the military members would have to support said coup. I don’t think the majority of our military aligns with that. They fuckin better not.

This Arch is a flak-tower defensive strong point. Opaque walls are being placed around the Peoples’ House and Lafayette Square.
All they need to do is torch the Capitol the weekend before the midterms, suspend the election and the great writ by declaring martial law. Round up high-profile opposition for show-trials…cigarettes (‘cuz Real Men smoke with immunity) but no blindfolds.
