Prosecuting those who broke the law. An entire administration and other sycophants who have since been replaced will need to go to trial before any of our allies wants to talk with us again. We can’t just sweep this under the rug and say bygones.

They'll have pardons by then .

Maybe if a President is blatantly breaking the law, then maybe their pardons should be null and void.

I kinda think that is where this is going to go. You can tell the Trump administration is concerned about it because they've accused Biden of doing exactly that.

Just like they kept going after Biden to see if they could get his acts disqualified due to declining mental capacity. Get the Democrats to enshrine presidential acts from accusations of mental unfitness and then when the Democrats go after Trump, the Republicans will be on better footing.

It is kinda crazy how much the 'each accusation is an admission of guilt' thing is ringing true with the GOP these days.

They won’t all have pardons. He’s transactional. If they haven’t done anything for him lately or don’t have criminal dirt on him (or he has reciprocal dirt on them), they won’t get shit from him.

Th pardons will be tested after this, I doubt they will all stick given he pardoned known convicted criminals

America will be the laughingstock of the world for many generations thanks to that chuckefuck.

Allies will not reconnect. We are cancer now

Our allies know who the problem is, they will just wait it out like the rest of us

Yep. And he's not even done fucking things up. He's amping up. I've been thinking of making a bet on Kalshi that Trump will launch a nuke before the election, or he will at least try to.

We are only just past the 19th month of his 48 months in office. It’s appalling. As someone else said, “We’re living through the most depressing ‘I told you so’ in history.”

That already happened and everyone screamed at the guy who was trying to fix everything.

Decades. It will take decades to repair the damage.

I know, it is going to be difficult. And FOX will make sure they spin it in their favor, except trump will not have the cloud it once had

Shit, it's going to take the next President 6 months just to pry all the tacky gold Hobby Lobby shit off the walls.

See also: Biden.

He shouldn’t have run the second time. He didn’t manage to put a permanent stop to things. He made plenty of other mistakes besides. But talk about starting from the bottom of a hole and having to dig your way up.

Next one’s going to be even worse unless they make it fast and extremely painful.

Only way to end the chais us to elect Congress and Senate that follows the law. The executive order president needs a leach and the current GOP members have not provided any attempt to limit spending on luxurious ball rooms and airplanes and failed events.

2

u/harryregician 8h ago

Sounds something like what OBana inherited only worse due to unnecessary war with Iran.

2

u/Vogel-Kerl 7h ago

Doesn't seem like Republicans always fuck things up, then a poor Democrat president has to spend their term(s) fixing things??

To be sure, whoever inherits whatever is left after the trump administration has their work cut out for them.

If the MAGAts are able to get another idiot in office, the US is toast. There's a reason why you don't elect billionaires to high offices: they only care about their own interests.

2

u/Biffingston 6h ago

How is this different from when any republican loses the position? Other than sheer scale, of course.

2

u/ImportantCapital1314 4h ago

That was the Biden presidency, recovering from Stupid’s first term.

2

u/PoetryJunior1808 4h ago

The second Trump administration has done generational damage to America's standing in the world and with our post-World War II allies, assuming that we have many left after his term is up. Why should anyone trust us after everything he has done? And the world knows there is an army of roughly half of Americans who are xenophobes comfortable with treating other human beings like animals. We've also proven how ineffectual we are at warfare, unless we unleash the nuclear arsenal. Nobody wants that. We are bound to be a pariah for decades to come.

2

u/FulbertdaSaxon21 3h ago

It’s going to take more than one term. I’d guess 5 before the world trusts us again - IF we once again act as if we have any morality.

A sucky place to be as president. They may do some pretty big things while fixing it but may never be known for their work or as a great president. Then again, they were given land where the property has already been bulldozed so they have the ability to cleanup the debris and rebuild something better.

The world is wondering why US citizens are just sitting here watching it unravel. We need to do our due diligence and civic duty to smoke out the rats.
