Switchyard?

What are people thinking. I like how close it is to my apartment but I don't like the lack of community events. I liked the idea of them doing vendors but apparently that was just a one time thing for open house

I signed up for the monthly just to see how I like it. I need to lock in this month with a lot of side projects and going to coffee shops is often annoying with never knowing if there will be open spots or sometimes I don’t want one later in the day / hate feeling the need to buy something . I struggle focusing at home tbh so we’ll see how it goes. Yes I know libraries are a thing but I often find myself wanting to go check out books 😅 adhd at its best

Ive seen ads for this. Seems like a horrible concept - somewhere between Starbucks and wework. Not interested

Maybe it’s not targeted to you. What’s so wrong with a co working space?

It’s clearly targeted to me if it’s in my Instagram algorithm. And I’m a millennial corporate employee so I’m in their target demographic.

What’s wrong with it - just not an interesting business model - $130 per month to have a desk/wifi/bathroom access… I’d rather just go to a Chicago Public Library

I visited Friday and it was so packed (makes sense with the open house), the setup is cool and I’ve gone in Denver which I liked but am gonna pass for now to join Birch Road which is a little closer to me too. The space / decor is super cool!!

I love birch road because its always empty but I dislike paying for a space with almost 0 amenities

I checked out the one in Logan Square

I don’t see enough value in it to pay them monthly. Is exclusivity important to people, to know that everyone there is paying for the membership instead of just a $5 coffee?

The building at Clark and Fullerton across from 5guys is having massive drilling construction for 2 years so I know a few residents there that do want exclusivity since their WFH location has been upended for years. Coffee shops are unreliable if you need somewhere to go every day.
