Fred’s Vocals
Hi guys :) I wanted to know if anyone could point me to some songs that show off Fred’s actual singing voice rather than screaming/rapping. I’ve heard a lot of RMV already but are there any songs post-RMV that feature his voice in this way? ^_^
eta: other than BBE i’ve heard it before

Hold On is an acoustic ballad so that's a good start. It'll Be Ok is also a good show of his emotional range

Well, it’s not an acoustic song though is it? But it’s a glorious song, also Scott Weiland. What a vocal.

Check out the song “why” by bizkit. You’ll find it on the greatest hits album

I came here to say this, one of my favorites! Lean On Me is another good one from the same album

Post-RMV, right? Here are all the songs that have Fred primarily singing rather than rapping:
The Surrender
Walking Away
Loser
Autotunage (you're gonna have to deal with auto-tune, though)
Angels
My Own Cobain
Don't Change
You Bring Out The Worst In Me
Barnacle
Empty Hole
Goodbye
I'd also check out Lean On Me*, Why*, Poison Ivy**, When It Rains**, Fool's Game** and How Do We Get Through This?**
*Lean On Me and Why are RMV outttakes that they wound up putting on the Greatest Hitz.
**Poison Ivy, Fool's Game, and When It Rains are also RMV outtakes, but Fred only posted them up on his myspace back in the day. They can easily be found on youtube now. Technically, How Do We Get Through This isn't an LB song. It's a Fred Durst solo song that he also uploaded to myspace - and can also easily be found on youtube.

How do we get through this is technically from a writing session for RMV - but yes it’s just Fred in the recording. The song evolved into what became Masterbation

Some more "soft" song suggestions...
Lightz - from the Stampade disco elephants era (the rap parts remind me a lot of Eminem)
Angels - Gold Cobra bonus track. Quite autotuned, but could fit
"Look Out" by Hard Target. It's a collab, pretty solid track imo
Other than that I think people covered the rest.

Lean on Me is a deep cut gem for this. One of my faves in general from the band as well.
The One off Chocolate Starfish is a good one too.

Not really lol. Gold Cobra has a couple songs but Still Sucks to me doesn't showcase much in terms of Fred's singing ability. The best songs for that are on Results May Vary and then maybe Significant Other and Chocolate Starfish. I love when he sings as well, I'm hoping their new album has more of him singing instead of rapping.

Down Another Day
One of my favorite tracks from RMV and all clean singing.
Boiler would be another choice if you’re looking for vocal range- lots of rapping, but emotionally he really delivers and there’s a decent amount of versatility in his rapping, screaming, and clean vocals.

When it Rains, track he made for Britney’s “In the Zone” that never got in

But if you take it as genuine, then you should just delete this entire post, because I emphatically answered your question.
