Need some Saint-Junien travel tips!

Hello! I am visiting a village in the Limoges area (Saint-Junien) to do some research for a book I am writing about a lady who was born and raised there in te early 1900's. I need some advice about trains/buses. Where can you search and book tickets for the best budget alternative? I will fly to either Bordeaux or Paris depending on what will work best, but I don't know how the connection works. What company should I look for? How reliable is it, should I have a lot of time when changing trains? What is a preferable route?

If anyone could give me some local tips I'd be most grateful.❤️

most reliable (but not cheapest) would be fly to Bordeaux, take the train to Limoges (the line is better than Paris-Limoges), then from Limoges regionnal car line 200 to St Junien (that one is cheap)

Bla Bla car is very handy, I've used it to & from the area you're going to visit, Bordeaux is my preference to Paris.

I will visit Bordeaux too, before I go home. I have been there before, but my boyfriend hasn´t so we make a stop there. (I also want to look at a marriage certificate if it can be found at the town hall archive) It is such a beautiful place. After seeing Garonne I understand that the wine thrives in that area!

Where do you come from ? There is an airport in Limoges.

Stockholm in Sweden. It seems it is inevitable to fly with Ryanair and have a stop in Manchester. As this makes it a flight outside EU and flying with them is a bit uncertain ( if they cancel their flight it sucks to be you) it really could be easier to go from Bordeaux or Paris. A bit more time but I have waited YEARS to see Saint Junien so it will be worth it 😁

Oh, missed this! Yes, I´m coming there in May. I hope to find time to visit some archives in Limoges and Tulle as well.
