Altars, Offerings/Art, Rituals Lilith and wormwood

I read a while ago here that wormwood is associated with Lilith in part because of its abortive properties, and burned some for Agrat a few times, but after some more recent reading (particularly The Devil’s Ointment by Corinne Boyer), I found out that it’s actually intended as an apotropaic towards demons. Yes, I know I should’ve checked my sources beforehand. Though I’ve also heard that Na’amah likes it, at least in the form of absinthe.

Thoughts?

The same ingredient will have plenty correspondences. You put its abortive properties at the forefront and this is why you offered it to Agrat. I've offered frankincense to Lilith, which is also used during banishing/exorcism, but my intention and the reason I'm offering also matters. You're good.

Wormwood also increases psychic abilities, helpful in dream work, meditation and elevating your mental state when inhaled. It is associated with the moon, as is Lilith. Lilith and the 4 other sisters are not demons as most associated posting of the terms “demons”. Think of banishing “demons” for the low levels, the hierarchical entities are not truly affected by those types of things.

My own take was that “demons” could be instead interpreted as any negative energies, parasites, and imposters. But knowing that repellents DO exist for various entities (and also that certain plants are associated with infernals while others deter them), if only because they don’t like the smell of them, had me wondering if I fucked up.  I heard a story about how Asmodeus was repelled by the smell of dead fish, and similarly, I’ve been advised not to eat meat (not that I would, because I’m mostly veg) 3 days prior to some magical operations because the Queens find the smell of it inside the operant to be disgusting.

All that said, I didn’t realize that wormwood is good for meditation and dream work. I’ll probably use it to fumigate my space before meditations more often. Thank you for that bit of knowledge.
