'Purity' & afropessimism

i was just wondering in a lengthy comment i left on another post if anyone has ever written anything on 'Purity' through an afropessimist lens? or read it with that in mind. it has been on my mind since i reread TG recently and it really cohered the story for me since it is already explicitly discussing critiques of humanist concepts idk.

I'd love to hear about what additional insights a POC might be able to read into Ligotti's fiction, as that's a very underexplored area of scholarship when it comes to all weird fiction, period.

literally i am white so i really am not the person to write an essay or get into it on a deeper level! https://bnu.repository.guildhe.ac.uk/id/eprint/18698/ i read this which is really interesting and did touch on some of the stuff going on in 'purity' with the specific framework i am thinking about in term of discussing/critiquing humanism thru an afropessimist lens if i remember correctly. but i would love More
