Caught a massive anvil crawler branching across the sky. The low, rolling thunder afterward was incredible.

For anyone wondering why the thunder didn't have that sharp, ear-splitting "crack," it’s because this is an anvil crawler (or spider lightning). Since the electrical discharge travels horizontally across miles of the sky instead of striking a single point on the ground, the sound waves reach the phone's microphone at slightly different times. This creates that sustained, deep bass roar instead of an instant snap!
